I won't do Razzi's anymore, since it switched hands the quality is down. Zeek's, not a fan. Palermo is okay but the crust is awfully thin. I can order from Ballard, Greenwood, or maybe Wallingford.

What qualities do you enjoy in a pizza? I haven't really settled on one pizza place myself, so can't recommend one dynamite place. I wasn't so much for snoose junction pizza, iirc.
Have you tried Amante? Pagliacci?
Posted 11 months ago # -
Have tried Pagliacci, it's okay. Amante woudl be a new one for me...I'll check it out!
Posted 11 months ago # -
holy toledo Amante has a lobster pasta!!!!

Here is a coupon. I always see them in valpak.

Soprano's.
Posted 11 months ago # -
I was a big Round Table fan until they got gentrified out of the U Village area; what about Pagliacci? They've got a pickup/delivery shop on 85th near 15th and over on Dravus in Interbay, among others.

A 2nd for Soprano's.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Did Amir sell the place ? when?
Posted 11 months ago # -
Round Table is gone? They always let the youth groups do their car washes and were so nice to us.
Posted 11 months ago # -
amantes sucks.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Crash Landing, they don't deliver but is worth the drive to pick up...
Posted 11 months ago # -
Northlake Tavern & Pizza house is the best I found out here but it is in the U-District... Well worth it
Posted 11 months ago # -
I actually love Snoose Junction, their Puttanesca is awesome. I haven't been to Zayda Buudy's, how do other folks like them?
Posted 11 months ago # -
+1 for Crash Landing. Love that place!
Posted 11 months ago # -
Crash Landing has that really thin crust that scarebaby doesn't like.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Hmm. Not sure I'd call it "really thin" but it is thinner than some. Not cracker-thin like Tutta Bella or Veraci. Crash Landing sells slices, so scarebaby could try before committing to a whole pizza.
How about Stacias? They seem to offer a zillion options -- the way I recall, you can choose the crust thickness you want. I want to like their pizza but I just don't. I think the quality is good and the price is low, but something is not quite to my taste. Sauce recipe, maybe? Anyway they have been in business for ages so they must be doing something right.
Costco pizza has a poofy thick crust but no delivery option or local outlet.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Another vote for Crash Landing Pizza. And I'm not normally a thin crust fan either. It's not a dry, crackery crust (as Angeline points out)so may be in the OP's comfort zone.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Oh boy I wish Roundtable was still around. I wonder if they still have the 1 in Issaquah?
I also loved Pietros..And Shakeys..Ended up at The Ridge on Greenwood Sunday, great pizza - but no delivery. Worth a try.
The wonderful thing about pizza is, there are so many styles and options!
Posted 11 months ago # -
Snoose Junction is awesome, as is Soprano's.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Went with Amante and liked it okay. Next I'm going to try Crash Landing, probly this weekend. Thanks for all the suggests!

We tried the new Ballard Pizza Company during beer week and it was pretty good. They're going to start doing free delivery in June.
Posted 11 months ago # -
I forgot to mention Flying Squirrel, also pretty good, lot of nice spices
Posted 11 months ago # -
there is a new pizza thread every 8-10 months. I just checked.
this round is won by the "Ridge" up on Greenwood for me anyway. perfect crust.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Keep meaning to go there and every time I'm at pilates, I smell pizza. Mmmmm.....pizza.
Posted 11 months ago # -
If you used to like Romio's before it became Razzi's... you may want to try Alberona's on Leary Way, where Hoki's Teriyaki Hut used to be. Totally reasonable pricing, huge menu, and their crust is delicious! I think I read in a Yelp review or something that the guys who operate it used to all work for Romio's. We tried Razzi's recently and were also very underwhelmed. http://www.alberonas.com/index.html

raisedbed, earlier this year, we were also completely underwhelmed by Razzi's. Only went there because we were looking for a gluten free option for a visitor. Neither the gluten-free or the "normal" pizza was very good. Could have been an off day with the oven I suppose.
Will look up Alberona's for next time.

gg - there are still some Round Tables around, but pretty far away from here. You can check on their website, but I think the closest is over in Redmond just off 520.
Posted 11 months ago # -
There is still a Round Table in south Everett. Near the mall.

+3 on Ridge, really yummy.
Terrible acoustics, no delivery, but yumyumyum.
Corny's is slowly going downhill.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Snooze Junction - I just heard a rumor today that both locations were closing for good. There's nothing on their website or here (forum or home page) to substantiate this rumor. Anyone else hear this? The source for this rumor is new to 'the village'.

lakreitz,
Check the story on the front page.

What's the name of that new pizza place down by the Loft on Ballard Ave? Anyone tried it yet?
Posted 11 months ago # -
Dang. That's really sad. I feel bad for all involved in the business. I was hoping my friend was wrong.
Posted 11 months ago # -
confus - I think Ballard Pizza is what you're thinking of. I liked the pizza, and the staff seem friendly and helpful. The nights they close at "only" 11PM the slices are deeply discounted for the last hour before they close.
Posted 11 months ago # -
wasn't the Snoose Junction Pizza owner one of those fighting the Burke Gilman missing-link extension tooth-and-nail?
looks like my boycott worked.
Posted 11 months ago # -
You were boycotting yet aren't even sure if they were against your cause? Typical.
Posted 11 months ago # -
And if that was (doubtfully) the reason, it only proves boycotts only serve to put more people out of work.
Confusatron - Yes, that's Ballard Pizza. Good pizza, to be sure. But slices are just too big for my tiny, chubby hands. Otherwise, really good pizza.Posted 11 months ago # -
Why do I have a hard time believing that a pizza joint that uses bicycles to deliver pizza would be against a bike trail?
Posted 11 months ago # -

not really related, but I was perusing that thread and came across this (from jules):
"Public service rant on:
I have a question (small digression here)...why do I see people riding sans helmets? WHY? Do they think it isn't cool, or will give them "helmet hair"??At one time there was an outcry about airlines requiring baby seats on planes. The FAA and Boeing figured out that a very small percentage of plane crash victims were children; and that for the amount of $$$ spent on airline child seats to prevent injury or death could be spent on buying every child in America a bike helmet, and preventing exponentially more injuries and/or deaths.
Why, why, why would anyone in this day and age ride ANYWHERE without a bike helmet? I see this every single day in Ballard. I'd love to see the Cascade Bicycle Club lobby to make this a law in the City of Seattle. My SO was hit by a car at Leschi. My friend was injurd by a pedestrain on the BG trail. In both cases a helmet saved their lives. Considering the traffic around Ballard, why wouldn't you wear a helmet?
Public service rant off."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
there was a good piece on npr yesterday describing bike helmets as a controversy of sorts. apparently, it's been proven that you ride more reckless when you wear a helmet, and cars even drive closer to you if you don one.
in lots of european cities, people don't wear helmets, yet they have less serious accidents. it's probably because they've got better infrastructure and drivers are more apt to see bikers, but it is interesting.Posted 11 months ago # -
Well it won't be Snooze Junction. They have closed & I'm not surprised. Did not like their pizza.
Posted 11 months ago # -
I thought Snoose Junction was the guy who was advocating a boycott of anyone associated with the Ballard Chamber of Commerce, because the CoC did not take a "side" in the bike trail debate - i.e they wanted people to boycott Salmon Bay Sand & Gravel.
In any case, I tried their pizza a couple times and did not like it. I like Pagliacci.
Posted 11 months ago # -
No, it was Doug11 or Stopgo that targeted Snooze in a series of posts, years ago, about their membership in the chamber given the chamber's opposition to the missing link. A rep. from Snoose came here after much online harrasment, and wrote a heartfelt testimonial explaining their position. I don't believe Doug, or StopGo had the heart to respond after that.

I just found out Razzi's was still storing my credit card number after I'd asked them not to (and they'd assured me they wouldn't), so an Alberona's Pizza is winging its way to me right now.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Razzi just doesn't sound like a good eatery name.
I would expect to sit down and have the waiter come and spit in my face or something.
Posted 11 months ago # -
It sounds like something the pledges got from the paddles in Animal House.
Thanks you sir, may I have another.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Alberonas tastes great and is appropriately priced. And they deliver! Its our go to now.
p.s. The owner is super friendly if you eat in the restaurant or you're waiting for your order :)
Posted 11 months ago # -
Alberonas was good, but I prefer more toppings and less grease, so my search goes on to replace (the regrettably named) Razzi's

Tried Veraci at Ballard Sunday Market and by far best pizza I have had in Ballard.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Veraci was at a company function and I have to say they were darned good. They were so good, in fact, that I complimented the person serving thinking it was one of our company employees. It wasn't, it was one of theirs and he was very nice.
It was seriously good pizza. I had to steal a bit to take back to work for dinner later.

I saw there one location other than Farmer's Markets is in Ballard http://veracipizza.com/menu.html
My new place for pizza
Posted 11 months ago # -
Yes, ironically they're in the same building on Market at the base of Phinney Ridge that for years housed a Domino's.
