With bits and pieces from your local hardware store...

I'm not endorsing any particular store mind you. I'm just rather proud of this little project. Yeah, I know, I'm simple minded.

Wow! You should be proud of this project.
Very cool. Now you need a mold mitigation generator. :)
No doubt about that except it was showering the whole time I was out there. A mold mitigation generator may already exist we just won't like the NW once it's done its job.
What I need is an enclosed impeller with a condensate capture and return and a super heater on the boiler. All still possible in the desk top version but well beyond what I had time and inclination to do.
Nice! I couldn't quite tell from the video -- is the rotating wheel hooked up to a gear reciprocating mechanism to make it move up and down?
No the steam wand is just bouncing around becuase I haven't secured it yet. Still testing...
The coke can impeller is glued to the shaft, and he shaft has 4 large magnets glued to it also. Then there is about 3 hundred feet of generator wire (magnet wire) wrapped around the magnets on the plastic casing. So the steam is just turning the magnets. If wasn't so bright out, you could see the red LED lit up (you can barely see it) from the electricity being generated.
You forgot the essential component for all steam engines: a steam whistle!
Pretty cool. Looks to be beer powered genius as well. :)
Did I not mention that beer makes the best steam?
Makes sense. Now use vodka, and then send the condensate return directly back as your fuel source instead of propane.
