Can't get enough of them lately. I made currant ones one day, and blueberry and lemon another. And clotted cream. Mmmmm.
Question: does anyone pronounce it "skawns" rather than "skoans"?
Enquiring, geeky minds want to know.

I pronounce it "yummy". :-)
Ha! Cream isn't the only thing skoans will clot. :)
Sadly true, but sooooo tasty. When I indulge, which isn't all that often, I figure I might as well do it right.
My family is Canadian and they all pronounced them "skawns". I still do sometimes when I forget that that is not how it is pronounced here.
You need taste testers. When should we stop by?
Lillybelle, my family too - to my husband's endless amusement. He also snickers when they say Mazda, Datsun or drama. :)
Mondo, I plan to whip some up this weekend!
I am craving a lutefisk scone after reading this thread and being from NY we carry our vowels.
Ha ha BH! And being from NY, after a eating a lutefisk scone you'll also probably be voiding your vowels.
BH, please specify NYS as you are sOoooo not from "NY"
Yeah BH, everybody who reads this forum assumes NY means NYC instead of NYS.
So you better go back and modify all them posts where you have already explained without guile or pretension exactly where you came from just to relieve Ballardbuzz from having to publicly roll her squinty eyeballs.
sc(oh)nes.
oooh, BH is on the crap list too :)
If you ain't, you better hurry, teigyr. :D
How many is it now? 3? He's going for it!
iPlod, I think I was #1!
Yes. The buzz person went after T first.
Yup, yup. I said imaginary things :)
Confiscate homeless animals etc. What a weirdo. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next.
teigyr.. Welcome to the jungle.. Seriously how a I not from NY state when my parents impregnated in the state in 1967..
Confused panda.... Good time haHa
He/she made no sense whatsoever in the dog thread and never really did explain themselves.
so I'm thinking troll. Do we have any kind of over/under on this? That'd be bet #1. And bet #2 is, is this person known by another user name?
Honestly you made me go back in the other thread and anyone from from upstate should know the place I mentioned but no reply since the dick tease. Interesting enough had a lot to say but avoided a landmark question. I think buzz should "Fly away" after the first 86 and not desperatelty admit defeat in 3rd party desperation.
It's either a new angry human being or a reincarnation of an old forum angry human being. I'd venture it's #1.
I'm actually surprised he posts after-hours when the library is closed.
They must be out of TP at the Ballard Commons.
That would make sense. I wonder when they will provide free wi-fi at the Commons?
I think VB power decrease earlier today was due to the electrical outlets they where installing in the commons today. May as well go for broke and toss in a hot tub.
And here I thought this forum was pretty much devoid of trolls. Sigh.
I read in another thread that at least one poster has gotten the boot. Well, well.
Compass Rose, a few here make Sybil look normal :) You never really know who is who though most are just average people being themselves.
oooouuuw goodie a thread all about me buzzzzzzz buzzzzzzzzz . ah life over the sea was soooo goooood and then i come back to educate these moar ons
Hey, Buff
They already have power outlets at the Commons. They are on the base of the light poles.
BH - just ignore BB.(he says you & I have things in common - as I see on another thread). I looked up his profile & he/she just joined. So a troll.
BH - If you had ever had lutefisk, you would know not to ruin a perfectly good scone (I pronounce with long "O")!!! My favorite is the Puyallup Fair scones with raspberry jam. One time I bought 18 of them - six for me & others for people I work with. Well the people at work never saw them!
Probably not a troll as in a new one, my guess is an existing one that is bored. I'm not sure if the misspelling is intentional or not. Actually my current thought is it probably has to be intentional, nobody with a computer or access to spell-check can be that ignorant.
