Broke my old one some months back and bought this at Best Buy to replace it, but instead got lured into buying a fancier Virgin phone. Too late to return it now, so I'm trying to find it a good home.

This phone is new, unopened, and rated among the best of the Virgin Mobile phones. It's a budget Android phone, but it's responsive and functional, has a micro-SD for expanded storage, and does not require a contract (just go month to month with auto-pay or with airtime cards/codes you can buy at most convenience stores, Radio Shack, and so forth). The three plans are $35/month for unlimited data/messaging and 300 talk minutes; $45/month for unlimited data/messaging and 1200 talk minutes, or $55/month for unlimited data/messaging and unlimited talk.

For MyBallard readers, I'll throw in an extra micro SD card, and a car cig lighter/power port charger/USB data cable. I might have a used case and extra battery, too.

Contact me at financial at that mind spring dot commy place if you're interested.

Mighty tempting as I am probably about ready to upgrade into a smartphone.
Are you happy with Virgin Mobile service?

virgin uses the sprint network, so you can research accordingly. I used virgin mobile once, but it was 10 years ago, so observations no longer apply.

Yes, I've been pretty happy with the Sprint 3G service that Virgin Mobile uses. It's not super fast, so bigger downloads (multiple megabytes and up) take noticeable time. However, KUOW streaming sounds fine, and LG has done a good job not overloading the CPU with lots of useless junk running in the background, so it's quite responsive for such an inexpensive phone.
The best part, of course, is that it's the cheapest smart phone plan around, is month to month so you can drop it whenever you want without a penalty, and you own the phone outright.
