Last night I experienced the single most amazing thunderstorm of all my years in Seattle. We're talking east-coast-storm-good! It was not forecasted anywhere I had looked and today hardly anyone is talking about it! (tho im hoping Cliff Mass will weigh in later today) I realize it was happening in the wee hours but I'm so surprised at the lack of mention. Who else enjoyed that as much as I did? :)

ballardmama - yes I watched it for a bit, very impressive. It looked like most of it was over in the peninsula.
Shannon O'Donnell did say on the news last night that she thought there was a good chance of thunder storms later in the evening.
I love to watch the lightning flashes and there were a lot last night, multiple flashes and then one rumble of thunder!
I like the avatar! Very creative.

Yup, was very much like mid-west summer nights last night. I lay there and counted the time between flash and rumble, could track the storm as it moved in and passed on by ...

Yeah, it was predicted. Channel 4 showed the mass of thunderclouds located around Centralia at 5pm and said they were on their way north. It was very impressive.

I woke up to it around 1:30am. I loved the low rumbling thunder... I didn't expect it either, but I didn't watch the local news yesterday. And just enough rain to cool off the city and water our plants :)

I also got up around about 1:30 am and could hear the thunder so out of curiosity I went outside and checked out the show til about 2:20 am

Being a product of the Midwest, I got up, closed my windows, and went back to sleep. Now I wish I would have gone outside to check it out.

It woke me up at 1:00 (or more accurately, my unleashed dog woke me up at 1:00) and kept me up until 2:00. I think it hailed here on Sunset Hill. I got up, saw a bicyclist run a stop sign, and went back to bed.
