We live in NW Fremont and saw a coyote running down the 42nd St just above Hazel Heights p-patch at about 10pm last night! I'd heard rumors of coyotes in the area but this is the first I've seen. I suppose it is possible it was a stray dog, but the body language wasn't right. And the way it seemed to just appear out of nowhere didn't seem doglike, either.

I'm sure you were right, Angeline. I have pics of a coyote I took along Interlaken Ave E., on the North end of Capitol Hill. Later on I spoke to the neighbor's gardeners and they said that they had been cutting back blackberry bushes and had found what looked like a den. The people that the gardeners worked for lost both of their aged outdoor cats in that same time period.
