    sheesh, sorry dude, my bad.

I mistook you for your rhetoric, which seems very consistantly pro union.

I get mistaken for my rhetoric all the time, fwiw.

I'd like to ask how you could be for something that doesn't benefit you at all, but I like Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny, I just don't count on them for anything...

Mitt Romney is rasing money for his election in foreign countries! Billionaire Bond Villians are funding their own nationwide campaigns to the tune of millions of dollars. And you are p*ssed about some union robocaller?

I just received a nice call from SPU, stating that I can use the transfer station for free for up to 6 bags of garbage and that pickup may resume Wed.

i had a robo-message on my machine when i got home from work (yes, i do indeed still have an answering machine...) but immediately stopped/deleted it when i realized it was an annoying robo-call.

just saw some headline about the hiring of "perminent replacement drivers"...

just want to add: GI, maybe i'm a little sensitive since my own pet was lost recently, and i realize that not everybody likes everyone else, but that comment about onders' cat is out of line. out of character also, i think, for what i see you post regularly. pretty nasty, dude.

trust me--I wouldn't even wish that on oneder.
his pet has gone through enough just living with him.

however his flippant LMAO comment would seem to catch up with him sooner or later.
I'm sure he's shrewd enough to keep her inside, perhaps at gunpoint.

sorry if it was offensive, nonethesless.

I truly debated hitting the 'send post' button after writing.
evil great idea was perched on my shoulder and pinched me spock-like until I clicked.

Agree this was a stupid move by the union. I'm generally very supportive of labor unions. Not a member of a union myself, but it's pretty obvious to me that in general unions are a good thing, helping to offset a little bit of the huge natural advantage that large corporations have over their workers. So I'm inclined to side with the union in most cases - not always, but it's my default position.

All robocalls are annoying. This one was really stupid. Bad call, guys, this tactic hurts you a lot more than it helps you.

Anyone with a CDL can drive a garbage truck. The only other training I can see would be knowing the route and maybe how to properly document when you refuse to pick up someone's garbage or charge extra.

I, too, am by default pro union. Byond that, refer to Ballard Pilot's post. I couldn't agree more.

It was nice when unions were easy to support. Now, we get to qualify our support.

I'm not so qualified, or intelligent, to blindly support these idiots.

I guess the 'shellacking' of 2010, or the Scott Walker recall of 2012, or the NLRB masturbating over Boeing's expansion gives me some reason to be hopeful, but this IS Seattle, home to all manner of nonsense.

My default position is, get to work, or be replaced.

Oh, Jay Inslee, you already quit your job. Bye Bye.

Does anyone know what they get paid and what they want? I know I wouldn't want the job so I'm assuming getting paid quite a bit to do it would be fairly reasonable.

From what I was hearing, the average total compensation was/is $98,000. That's including employer paid benefits, of course. There was also quite a bit of OT involved too. The recycling people made approx $9-ish/hr less than the garbage people and therein lies the strike. The garbage people were striking in solidarity. I don't know how they worked it (ie seniority? You could "upgrade" your position?) as far as who worked where unless you were hired into a certain position. If you were hired in, I guess you'd know the salary and the discrepancy and in theory, you'd be ok with it because you accepted the job.
