1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS Convertible
    $6500, OBO

Color: Red with tan convertible cloth top, tan interior
    Mileage: 65,000
    Transmission: 5-speed manual
    Clean Carfax, maintenance records available
Recently inspected by mechanic, no issues

For sale, a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS Convertible with only 65,000 original miles, and I am the original owner. I bought it straight out of college after I got a job that required a lot of traveling. I now have a family and must move on to a different car (i.e. a station wagon).

I ordered a Carfax which is clean, and I have saved almost all my service records, including oil changes. I also took it to a mechanic to double-check that it didn't have any major issues, and it was fine. The mechanic mentioned he hasn't ever seen a Mitsubishi this clean, for whatever that's worth.

The interior shows a little wear from age, but not much. It drives great in the snow, and I added a hitch to the back to hold my snowboard and skis, but if it's just me and my wife, our equipment fits in the backseat with a little negotiating.

I replaced the convertible top and rubber door seals in 2004, but the motors have long-since worn out. The convertible top works manually, but it wouldn't be too hard to replace the motors if you really wanted the automatic top to work again.

If you've ever wanted a convertible, this one might be for you. It is both a daily driver and weekend car in one. One drive in the mountains with the top down is usually all it takes for me to fall in love with it all over again.

JJ, I think its a very good deal for such low mileage. Reviews on the car are so love/hate.

    Is it garaged?

It's not currently garaged. It has been from time to time (when I had a garage) in the past. More recently it's been my daily driver.

As far as the love/hate stuff, I paid close attention to all the reviews back when I bought it. It was criticized for having a lackluster automatic transmission and the turbo (GST) was said to be priced too high for what you got. Therefore I stuck with the manual non-turbo (GS) version.
