Wow. Angrrflllone, sounds like you also have a problem with black people as well. Homophobe and racist as well?

Welcome to the 21st century. Those archaic ways are so... passé now...

On that note a notable quote from Dr. Zaius:

You are right, I have always known about man. From the evidence, I believe his wisdom must walk hand and hand with his idiocy. His emotions must rule his brain. He must be a warlike creature who gives battle to everything around him, even himself.

Maybe you should call me a closeted black because I can't stand liars?

    "Homophobe and racist as well?"

    lie.

Perhaps a lesson in civics, or an understanding of empathy should be required. I'm guessing one of you spit in my hair a few years ago, if I knew which one, I'd apologize for being in your way. Seeing how you don't believe I should exist shouldn't matter to me in the least.

Your opinion is precious, got it. My opinion is based upon an intellectual deficit.

Maybe it's my gender/bias, maybe it's my color, maybe it's just God's choice.

Maybe you just need to spit in my hair, either way, it's clearly you all who know better, but do it anyway.

You and I are miles apart when it comes to politics but I believe we have always got along just fine here. The thing is, some of the stuff that you have posted today doesn't really sound like you. Obviously you have your own opinion but you don't need to resort to this kind of thing.

I'm with Pennygirl, tea and toast for everyone. The glory of our electoral system is that if we don't like what happens this time we get to try again in four years. No sense in calling each other names in the meantime, it won't make anyone change their mind, might make some people dig in their heels a little more. Tea and toast, with jam.

Fwiw, Faux news, and the mindless minions are consitstently lambasted for endless repetition of buzz word talking points by many of those in attendence here, but is that any different than the instant instant hype against Ryan? Perhaps those who would criticize Ryan should start with something posted here...

    http://paulryan.house.gov/

and then postulate their own opinion. Wouldn't that be something special as compared to those who simply repeat what their prefered opinion source has told them to say? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the OpEd's writing their piece and injecting it into the fray, but quoting someone more intelligent and thoughtful than Faux news just doesn't make one more intelligent and thougthful.

Don't get me wrong. Bring Oneder to task all you like because he asks for it all the time. But in the end, it isn't much different than picking on the short bus kids. His thoughts are disjointed because he can't remember which thought was ever his. That, and he lives in a basement...

One of the reasons I support national health care (and increased taxes to support it) is that it allows artists, dancers and musicians concentrate on their muses without being either put in the poorhouse by a broken ankle or having to moonlight to obtain health benefits. I am not an artist, dancer or musician but their "products" make my life worth living.

Thus whenever some GOP economic darwinist with an infatuation with Ayn Rand comes along snappin' his/her fingers to a tune produced by struggling musicians it does indeed make ones blood boil.

Ascap provides for a very good benefit package, for artists of all stripes. Obama eliminates that option. Take a real good look, you'll see how stupid that statement is.

Calling any GOP an economic darwinist, with an infatuation w/ Ayn Rand, shows exactly how limited your experiences are. Economics are not to be facebooked with, even artists are capable of grasping that concept.

We all, with fingers, snap our fingers to music that we enjoy, if that makes your blood boil, perhaps you are not fueled by blood, but by some infusion of stupidity.

Boiling point being anything above zero degrees, which speaks well for our energy future...

Most artists I know cannot afford the ASCAP benefits package.

Obama's health care plan has been gutted to conform to GOP wishes but as I see it a vote for Romney is a step backward. Furthermore, I did not mention the Obama package so don't call me "stupid" based on your assumptions.

I would not use the word gutted, but from the outset this administration offered the Republican plan that was suggested by the GOP in response to Bill/Hillary Clinton's healthcare reform bill. While this was upsetting to progressives, it was done by an administration that thought it would have the best chance of garnering Republican support, you know a compromise.

    THATs A FACT JACK

As far as being offended by the inconsistencies of how conservative leaders live versus how they govern, and expect others to live I'm over that. It can be a little jarring, but I've seen it up close, it is not really news to me, and I'm fairly numb to it as a criticism as it won't move an electorate.

FWIW - Many GOP staffers live a "Metro Sexual" life, listen to music, eat, party, and even f*ck in way that does not seem to reconcile with the platforms or followers of various subsets of the conservative movement. It can be funny, but I'm much more concerned with how they want the rest of us to live, than how they live themselves.

Sure they are hypocrites, but there are better examples of that in their policies and that usually resonates more with voters than lifestyle crap.

Anyone remember the staffer in mike DeWine's office a few years ago. She for what ever reason she started turning tricks for staffers who were more established. When the news broke, she lost her job, I don't recall any of the men did.

True that Edog - given the GOP antipathy toward Obamacare, which is essentially a republican healthcare plan, one questions whether the Dems are particularly good at bargaining (compromise). Obama should have proposed single payer healthcare with a free ounce of marijuana to each registered voter. Then he'd have Obamacare approved easily.......

I guess the proof would be in the pudding. Name one single GOP member that voted for Obama's "GOP gutted, GOP designed, GOP compromised, "Affordable care act"?

Not one. Namely because the very name of the act was as much of a lie as all the other ones you purport it to be.

    That's a fact, Jack.

I did not say the GOP compromised, I said that the Whitehouse started from a position of compromise when they took the path offered by the Republicans in the Senate in 1993 and Republican Governor Mitt Romney later. Its a distinction with a difference.

Yes the 'short bus' quip was a bit below the belt but I was just poking a little fun. I've ridden on many a short bus and find the company quite amicable.

Perhaps if you omitted the words 'stupid' and 'idiot' from your lexicon, you too could achieve eloquence. Just a thought.

The company in my sandbox is rather poor. I was deleted remember? But then again, I do share it with the likes of you etal.

You know all this talk from Congressman Akin reminds of an idea I had when I was younger. See when I was in my teens it would have saved a lot of hassle and money on birth control and made sex just so much more convenient and accessible if could magically turn off the life-giving portion of my seed when I did not need it. Its not exactly a perfect parallel, but I think its cool that women's woman parts magically shut down when the love is not pure.

Life outside the empirical world must be so much more interesting than what we descendants of Monkeys and Apes contend with.

There are so many great quotes in this article. The position these republicans like akin and ryan are staking out is at times more extreme than sharia law, which they are also legislating against.(fear)

Todd Akin and Paul Ryan, in other words, hold the same position on rape and abortion as the leading shariah authority in Egypt.

    http://www.juancole.com/2012/08/islamic-shariah-todd-akin-paul-ryan-on-abortion-legitimate-rape.html

The main point is that Ryan co-sponsored The Protect Life act (one of 145) among many other anti-abortion bills.
