Kathi has lost her battle with brain tumors. She had developed pneumonia following the latest chemo treatments. She was a gracious lady and a real trooper in her battle. So full of positive vibes. She can be at peace now.

I had actually checked the KOMO website this morning, expecting to read that she was gone; I'd had an ominous feeling about this hospital stay. It's so, SO sad, but I'm glad she is no longer suffering. Of the three blonde newscasters we had for so many years, Kathi was always my favorite. I'll keep her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Kathi was so much more than someone who read the news every night.

Komo was blessed to choose her, and will never be able to replace her.

Beyond, Kathi, tyvm for everything, my heart goes out to your family, all of us.

I went to school with her and remember her being exactly as she seemed when she anchored at KOMO. Very kind, vivacious and everyone wanted to be her friend. My sympathies to her family, friends and coworkers.

  6. Here's to a more peaceful journey, Kathy. She was very inspiring. Walking the path she has been on must have been very tiring-- for her and her family and friends.

She was definitely a class act! My heart goes out to her family and friends, especially her girls.

Always genuine which is so very rare among people who juggle a very public & maybe not so private life.

A consummate professional in a natural kind of way, if that makes any sense.

I'm heartbroken for her family and the unshared years that lie ahead.
