Got storage? Seattle-based Burning Man theme camp Suspended Animation is looking for secure rental storage for their equipment when it's not in use. They need a space that is at least 8' by 8' by 16' and the space needs to be able to be accessed by a large box truck. Most recently they have been using a secure garage.

Any leads on a reasonably priced space?

There's only about a million storage places around here. Obviously they want something for nothing, or close to it.

I think that they were paying about $200 a month for a garage. Sorry, I should have included that!

good luck. Maybe some private storage but any normal storage will be market rate and that's not cheap around here. Have them look east of the mountains. you can find some pretty cheap storage around Ellensburg.

They need access to their gear for special events several times a year or yeah, east of the mountains would work. Right now it looks like they are going to have to move into something expensive until a cheaper/better space is foound.

  7. We always seem to end up going with Door to Door Storage. They bring a 5 x 8 storage unit for $99. That price is for up to 4 boxes. You supply your own lock, fill it then call them back and they pick it up. Then they prorate for the month and normal storage is less than in the area. I think we were paying $50 some dollars each month. I just made the mistake of not tying down everything to the little iron circles in the back and they arrived back all flopped forward. We've always been happy with their service & they do seem to be a lot cheaper. Convenient to have it brought to you and taken away too. :)

Thanks for the recommendation, DimpleDolly! This particular camp has a lot of long support poles, lighting trusses, etc., so they really do need at least 16 feet of Length. It's good to know about all of the options though. This weekend is the big move. Let's hope the weather dries up by then. ;-)

  9. Your welcome:) I'm packing up boxes and trying to decide on door to door or this one in north seattle. It is a pain finding storage with them being so expensive. Have a nice move(:

The move went well. They went for a commercial storage locker in Lynnwood that was bigger that the garage they had been in, and only costs $230 a month! Yay!
