    From the game night thread:

"Once I get the crockpot hoping Pickles doesn't jump up to investigate. That's her latest - getting into EVERYTHING. And if she smells something she likes that I'm eating, up she comes & tries to grab off fork or will lick my mouth. And since she likes veggies, I'm sure it will be a challenge to eat whatever I make in crockpot."

So Gracie, how big is the little Pickle now?

Last weigh-in she was a whole 3#. Going into the vet this Friday for rabies shot & going to get weighed then (to see if she weighs enough & big enough to get her girlie parts taken out!). She's still short in length but getting quite the "girth".

gracie - If you named her Garfield and made the lasagna I am sure you wouldn't get the chance to try it ;)

At times I think she is Garfield! She smells anything like bread, pasta she goes nuts trying to get to it. If I had lasagne in the house I'm sure she would be a giant pest & want all of it. Awhile back I bought a Caribbean Bowl at Paseo & she wanted it - "demanded it (I did give in & let her have a little of the chicken).

Pickles is 4 months,.almost 5. Will be 5 months on November 4th. Her exact date of birth is unknown as mama cat missing for two weeks when found with her six kittens. It was beginning of June & my mom's birthday was June 4th - so chose that day.
Hoping the vet will say it's a go for the surgery as cats apparently go into their first heat between 4 and 6 months old. Don't want a hormonal kitten around acting all nuts.

She sounds adorable, Gracie. Reading this is making me want to get another kitten. But the princess would surely not be pleased. She's ruled the roost for five years.

Compass, hate to say but I think she is too. She certainly rules my life now and I'm not complaining. It's so good to be greeted at the front door every night with a MEOW, MEOW and then doing the kitten "happy dance" around my feet.
Your cat in the avatar is absolutely gorgeous.

Gracie, how sweet that she greets you when you come home. It's so great to have a cat; they ask so little and give so much.

Thanks for the kind words about our baby. She's a Siberian. We got her because I'm horribly allergic and this is one of the few breeds (maybe the only one ... ?) that people with allergies can tolerate. We have friends who are also very allergic and have been around her with no problems.

They're a really lovely breed, typically outgoing and very curious.

lifeamazing - I don't know why I put she weighed 3# last weigh in. It was 2.5#. This time she is "all the way up" to 3.15. She got like three vaccinations (including rabies). That night & especially next morning not herself - next morning she growled & tried to bite me if I touched her anywhere but on top of her head. She was also very lethargic. So I gingerly lifted her when I had to & let her sleep. The papers sent home said this could happen. She slept almost all day & into the night. Next day back to her old self - full of piss and vinegar. I felt so bad for her. Wait until she has her surgery - then she'll really be attempting to bite me. She's almost big enough for it.
Compass - it is cool her greeting me but makes me sad when I'm going to work & I can hear her (like this morning) mournfully meowing at the front door. She does love her mommy!

She sounds wonderful. I wonder, since she had such a reaction to the shots maybe waiting until she is 6 months for the spay? There are those that think that waiting is a good thing.
I do know that if you fix a female shepherd early they don't grow a ruff around their neck like they do if you wait. Makes me wonder what doing it early does to their hormones. Just a thought.
    Man she is cute.

LIA, I was thinking the same thing this morning. I'm going to wait until she is six months and fingers crossed - she doesn't come into heat before that. I will feel safer.
Thanks on the cute remark - I'm a little prejudice but I think she's kinda awesome myself. Wherever I take her I get "ahhh, your kitten is so cute." "Can I pet her?" So an intended ten minute shopping at Value Village will turn into an hour or more. Someone asked if I was going to dress her up for Halloween - that would be no.

LIA - a friend just came up with this idea and all I could say was are you kidding? He says I should have a bumper sticker made up and instead of "What would Jesus do?" He wants "What would Pickles do?" Seriously??

HA! I think that would be a riot!
It reminds me of the born again bumperstickers that said I Found It! And then someone made I Never Lost It! in the same font and colors and then finally, inevitably came I Stepped In It! I realize how offensive that may be but I have to admit I cracked up.

Last night I was in bed watching TV. I had fallen asleep;woke up & went to turn on other station to see how election going. Pickles now chooses to sleep on top of me & she was blocking the view. Pushed her aside a little;found out that Obama had won. Looked at her & said "Obama won!" and she instantly gave me a little kiss on the face. Guess she's an Obama fan.
