I just picked up some pizza from Crash Landing Pizza (65th) and they had a sign saying they were closing in December due to losing their lease! I have to admit we don't go there very often, but I was surprised to learn they were in there for 10 years.

Perhaps, Crash Landing was more than just another stupid name after all...

What the hell, that sucks, I hate to read this. Been a fan of them, stuffed my face a ton eating there while my laundry dried nextstore.

Losing your lease could imply there is another business that wants to move into that spot. Does that mean another bar? Coffee shop? A different pizza shop?

Love that place! Best NY style pizza-by-the-slice in Ballard. The horse's mouth told me that the owner has decided to close shop and do something else. So my understanding is it's more of a retirement issue than a lease issue...but who knows.

This really is a shame. Crashlanding is a regular stop for my daughter and I while we are on are way home from school, specially on Fridays.

Sometimes, Oneder, it is good to be exposed to the world through the eyes of a child. The child sees the fuselage of the rocket stuck half-way into the wall and suddenly is in the know, on the inside of an inside joke, privy to a mystery that to the uninitiated might be labeled "stupid".

This little pizza joint has been around for quite a while. The fellows who work there are courteous and kind and they appreciate regulars. It is down home and I'll be sad to see it go.

Nice people, great pizza. The name carries over from a pizza place owned by the same guy that had been on Capitol Hill in the late 80's-90s. Delivery was by skateboarders. From Rocket Pizza to the aptly and sequential name Crash Landing. I'm really sad it won't be there anymore.

No! My favorite place to get pizza.

Maybe they could move into the RoRos location? Parking would be nice.

Stupid, greedy landlords. What is wrong with just renting to a successful, stable place and letting it ride? Epilogue Books, anyone?

I never liked the pizza that much, but the atmosphere, and people were grate. They are down the street from us, and my daughter knows enough to stop in for Dum Dum suckers. They were always nice whether or not we were making a purchase or not.

I wish them well, good people are hard to find.

Oh no - another hole in the wall spot going away? I loved the vibe there and the owner was super nice. I sure hope it is a matter of his wanting to retire vs. being left out in the cold by a greedy landlord. No more bars on this street please - we are at maximum capacity.... boring.

Angline - my first thought - Epilogue Books.
Never did hear why Yankee Diner (Broiler) literally closed overnight without telling employees (so I was told & read) or letting people know who had booked banquet room. Wish a good restaurant would lease the place before it falls apart.

I grabbed some pizzas (they are by far the family favorite) & saw the sign - 12-12-12 is the last day. They've been around for 10 years. The guys behind the counter said that the landlords want to expand the laundromat & they could not fiscally justify moving their business.

I am sad & a little ticked. Wonder if a kickstarter would help...

Dang, they should have held out and advertised free pizza for everyone on 12-22-12.
