So people can stop taking shots at each other and quit being so nasty. Honestly has any comment in a thread changed the way you plan to vote.

I Can't Wait For The Election To Be Over ..

If a mere thread on a forum, TV ad, or bumper sticker is enough to decide your vote then maybe you shouldn't be voting in the first place. People need to do their own research, including reading materials from BOTH sides and make up their own mind. Don't just accept as truth everything your given party of choice spoon feeds you.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Dumb Americans! They not force feed you. You make choice between two spoons and spoons both same.
Posted 6 months ago # -
I can't wait either.
Obama said "Elections have consequences."
...until 2010 shellacked him, and many other oblivious politicians. I don't think anyone in history has forgotten a quote quicker, especially one of their own quotes.
I've yet to see a forum thread or commercial that changes my perspectives politically.
To be honest, most just solidify my perspectives.

I'm tired of it too. It's more Facebook than here - a lot of the "I'm right you're wrong" stuff and I wonder why they feel the need to justify. Not all of it is educational, in fact very little of it is. I'm trying to ignore it all because some of the people I genuinely like and I don't want that to change because of this.

Is easier if you give up now! Boris right, you wrong!
Posted 6 months ago # -
Okay, I'll accept defeat when you do, troll.
btw, we've got a statue of troll God in Fremont, you should sit back on a solid win...

WINNING
Posted 6 months ago # -
I am SO OVER all this. I hate the mud slinging, the endless commercials. One of the reasons I got rid of land line at home were all the unsolicited political calls "Hi, this is Hillary Clinton....."
I just hope the ones I voted for win..same with proposals I voted.
Working in environment where it's 99% opposite of what I believe in, can be trying around these times.Posted 6 months ago # -
I'm tired of it too. We went to the mountain outpost for the weekend to get away from the madness. No phone service or internet, generator power only. Wish we could have stayed until at least Wednesday, but it was a nice break nonetheless.

I was always taught that voting was a private thing and I swear some of the older generation that said it are the worse culprits on Facebook and forums.

"I was always taught that voting was a private thing"
Don't share it on the Internet.
"and I swear some of the older generation that said it are the worse culprits on Facebook and forums."
Who, exactly, are you calling old???
...you whipper-snapper...
speaking of whipper-snappers, not even humorous, but targeted at Seattle-style liberals w/ children...

I doubt charges will ever be filed, but seriously, when do you get a cheap laugh, and when is it abuse?
Posted 6 months ago # -
Yah, pretty weak scheme by Jimmy and the parents who actually did it.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Do you know what I am sick of? The fact that you apparently aren't allowed to be friendly with someone who doesn't share your political beliefs. It's here, on fb, on twitter - everywhere. When the hell did things get so bad that we consider someone a bad person/idiot because they have friends across the aisle? And you wonder why they can't get anything done in Washington.
Posted 6 months ago # -
I am starting to seriously wonder how many people have lost long term friends from the election.
Posted 6 months ago # -
I've always thought most Republicans were idiots.
Posted 6 months ago # -
If is american than is idiot!
Posted 6 months ago # -
That's sad Alii.
Posted 6 months ago # -
sheesh...post an IQ test AW. I dare ya to post your result.
I don't think you need to be a 'genius' to give a crap. I'm no genius, but I'd give anything to serve someone in need, well, I do, but I'd keep doing it.
Posted 6 months ago # -
I would be helped if this forum wasn't facebooked, forcing me to edit w/ my facebooking toes....
Posted 6 months ago # -
PG, you've proven it can be done however most people prefer to name call.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Tomorrow, maybe the Democrats will take control of the house or the Republicans will take control of the Senate, maybe Obama or Romney will win, but at the end of the day our government will still be intact, there will be no civil war and all of us will have the chance to do this again in four years. I think that is pretty amazing.

I am starting to seriously wonder how many people have lost long term friends from the election.
Not sure they were really your friends then.
I have many friends that I do not share the same politics/social values/economic/ and so on.... but we are friends for other reasons and may argue about stuff, but in the end we are still friends
Now back to my Whiskey

Whatever the results, I'll rest easy knowing we have the best gubmint money can buy.

Jimmy Kimmel is an ass.
Just my opinion.Posted 6 months ago # -
Same here RichY. Maybe it's just the internet that brings out the worst in people.
Posted 6 months ago # -
PG, I think you're right. It's a lot easier to draw lines (ie Republicans are idiots or Democrats are idiots) instead of just discussion issues over drinks, having lively debate, and then go home and still be friends the next day. What I find mildly amusing are those who post anything they can find to state their opinion but gloss over/ignore anything that goes against their opinion. There are all sorts of shades of gray - and no one side is 100% right or wrong.
Posted 6 months ago # -
...or 100% deluded.
Posted 6 months ago # -
...or 100% jaded.

Just remember, friends, vote early, vote often.
I wrote in a vote for Richard Nixon. In '94 we thought we wouldn't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore. I just know he's going to make an historical come back this year!

And that is why I love JP!

People have lost friends.

To bad there isn't head shot. I am curious to see what oneder looks like.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Bringin' back Heath and Kiesinger as well.
Posted 6 months ago # -
He is rather debonair given that fact that he lives off the grid 6 months of the year BH.
Posted 6 months ago # -
How about Thatcher JP? Let's give the old bat another go around!
Posted 6 months ago # -
SJMT ;)
Posted 6 months ago # -
9-10 months, but who's counting.
<----- I look like this...duh ;-)
Posted 6 months ago # -
It's the the disproportionately large tail that distracts me.
Posted 6 months ago # -
I am still trying to see how big the paws are to confirm the rumor.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Well at least the paws match the tail color-wise. We know Waldo is a true ginger :)
Posted 6 months ago # -
I swear that tail is an add-on. We need photographic confirmation from another angle.
Posted 6 months ago # -
You think Waldo has been enhanced?
Posted 6 months ago # -
You can buy all sorts of things at Petco nowadays. At least that's what 1der told me :-)
Posted 6 months ago # -
You know what I saw at Petsmart? A big old cutout of Bret Michaels. Like life size. Scared the bejesus out of me.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Since this political distraction thread has been jacked so far, I direct a comment towards PG.. Scored original DJ pressing of Hawkwind "Warrior on the edge of time" on vinyl. Mint. Vote Lemmy!
Posted 6 months ago # -
teigyr.. I saw that also and was like WTF.. We should copyright the forum and turn it into a reality show. Endorsements would be EPIC ;_)
I can see t-shirts, lunchboxes, folders, notebooks, posters of oneder in Teen Beat magazine and cell phone covers

Wigzilla at PetSmart? What is the world coming to?
Posted 6 months ago # -
Tonight I'm going to watch anything but the stations covering the voting. I'm just going to be either very happy Wednesday morning or very sad or maybe a mixture. I just hope one I chose for President wins and that the winner will be determined tonight - and not drawn out. Hmm, maybe I'll just go see a movie instead.
And Waldo's tail - it is ginormous but what a handsome cat. People always comment on Pickles tail - it is relatively short & fat & marked just like a raccoon. Personally, I think it's kinda cute.Posted 6 months ago # -
Tonight, I'm going to watch episodes 2, 3 and 4 of Walking Dead on Amazon.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention
!!!!HOPEY CHANGEY!!!!
Posted 6 months ago # -
Waldo agrees, Pickles is a looker.
Generally I'm a news junkie, I listen to Kiro radio, keep the scanner on all day, read several news papers and keep tabs on MyBallard.
Today all I'm hearing is the scanner, and everything else is on a time-out.
Waldo's tail is 100% real. I was considering giving him a pair of 'truck nuts' for Christmas, but I was told...'stfu'. I think he's got a bit of 'Maine-coon' in him.
Posted 6 months ago # -
You should have named him Crockett after Davy.
Posted 6 months ago # -
You should have named him Crockett after Sonny, and put a little t-shirt & sport coat on 'em.

Posted 6 months ago # -

I predict Mitt Romney will 'win' the election.

say, the loser stays away from MyBallard for one week (or a month).Posted 6 months ago # -
He should at least win PA :)
