I have had things dumped on my property before and had the city remove it, but now I can't find the appropriate link. Anybody know how I can get an abandoned TV removed? Thanks.

Wouldn't it be easier to just take it to the Goodwill? Sucks to have to do it yourself but it will get removed much quicker.

I'd use dynamite, blame it on the juveniles down the street. ;-p

is it hooked up to Cable or Dish? Ya might just wait till someone dumps of a sofa and there ya go. Put Christmas lights on it and you have a neighborhood gathering place

You probably could get away with dropping it off at goodwill but I'm sure that they only want "working" items like this. I've tried to drops old electronics off at Goodwill in the past and they told me they didn't take them unless they were working. No more teaching repair skills I guess, but then again most people don't have a bad set repaired anyway, I guess it just goes with the times.
If ya got a sofa and enough beer you could have a neighbor hood gathering even if the set didn't work I'm sure

Just to clarify, I am not recommending the poster donate it. There is an electronics drop off in the Goodwill parking lot. They take old electronics and supposedly recycle them in a proper manner instead of dumping the mercury and other stuff in landfills.

Thanks, Observant, that was what I am looking for. I could also take to the electronics recycling drop-off this weekend, although it's kind of big and heavy for me to put in my car.

You could always put a "free" sign on it...

I am so tired of people who seem to think their crap is the responsibility of someone else. On the bike trail there's been a microwave somewhat smashed to bits, has been there over a month. I don't know how it got down there (theft? stolen package?) but it's a bit out of control the lengths people will go just so someone else can do their "work" for them.

"free" signs tend to be ignored.

$59.99 signs tend to be attractive, and your product will be stolen.

    Nobody wants anything free, fwiw.

Of course, you risk the possibility that whoever dumped it will see your opportunity, steal it back, and place a sign as well.

If you are okay with that, we could agree.

Also, we could agree on dynamite, just think about it ;-)

$59.99 and a "we trust you, put your money in here" box.

I filled out the form regarding a couch down the street from my home and then the darned thing says that if the illegal dumping is on private property then it is a matter for the property owner. Damn.

I guess I'll have to go roll it into the parking strip.

I had thought of putting it in the middle of the intersection. Do you think that will get someone's attention?

Corvus, our yard is a popular dumping ground. You could always push it up toward hillbillyland :)

That would be a lot of pushing and then I would have to cross the border. Still it might be nice to have a soft, though somewhat soggy, spot to relax outside the nudie bar. It might be considered a public service to leave it there.

I'd like to see Corvus do a Texas Couch dance...

...if it's under a free sign, of course...

Maybe you had better think on that for a moment.

I don't remember who it is, but there is a place that will pick up a tv for free, in the hopes that they can refurbish it. They happily picked up my 50" plasma that had become psychedelic (I suspect it popped a couple caps, but didn't want to take the back off to check).

Put the couch near the sleazy people waving signs by the sexy times store so people can sit on the couch and kibitz/coach the sign wavers, preferably with a beer in hand.
