FYI - the 2013-4 Budget Passed by City Council includes "On bicycle issues, the Council also directed $1.27 million for the Ballard Greenway, $625,000 for the Delridge Greenway, $1 million for a Downtown Cycle Track, funding for the West Seattle Lower Bridge trail, and funding to study bike and pedestrian access for the 520 project; the Council also approved $300,000 in funding proposed by the Mayor to continue work on the Missing Link of the Burke-Gilman Trail."

So does "continue work on the Missing Link of the Burke-Gilman Trail." actually mean "continue to have to send lawyers to court to argue on behalf of the Missing Link of the Burke-Gilman trail"?

that would be sad if the lion's share of $300k went for legal fees.
I hold no hope that this project will be completed in my lifetime.

You know, if they just did nothing more than pave the south side of Shilshole Ave it would improve the situation about 90%. I don't see that infringing any on businesses there.
That and just pave the very short road in front of the Ballard Oil and Pacific Fisherman and you would essentially have your complete bike path, safe for anyone
Don't even worry about the railroad tracks, leave them there. Isn't that one of the major bones of contention?Posted 6 months ago #
