According to a story here: "A revised land-use application has been filed for the block that houses the decades-old Viking Tavern at NW 64th St and 24th Ave NW. The application, published today by the Department of Planning and Development, now calls for underground parking for 55 vehicles, as opposed to the 17 originally proposed. The application still proposes a six-story building with 54 residential units and 3,635 sq. ft. of retail at ground level."

That will completely transform that corner. I think I'm in denial about the Viking going away. That is truly sad.

Looks like real life forced them to give up trying to sell/rent living units without included parking spaces. It certainly will be a bit strange to have a big 6-story building complex there!

Old news, I'm tired of talking/hearing about it. Progress ... eh? :/

I don't really care about the viking one way or another, but that is a shitload of cars.

Really wish they would leave that corner the way it is, Ballard has enough cookie cutter crap. Bill Parks can say all he wants about The Viking returning but I seriously doubt that. We will enjoy the convenience of something like a Verizon or a Subway, yay progress.

24th used to be a handy little street - before the bkie lanes, QFC, and apartments/condos off the side streets, now this monster. can't wait to see 24th in a couple years.

It does not sound at all like he is interested in leaving space for the Viking in the new development. Even if he did it wouldn't be the same place at all. Sad. To get all those extra residents and their cars on that busy corner, and lose the Viking.
