(and I assume they are the same as normal city ones?)

    There are no others, fwiw.

I've talked with several, unofficially, most think it's a waste of time, especially given our acceptance of live-ins/junkers/scofflaws in Ballard.

You would definitely need to call in a vehicle if it is a problem/suspected stolen.

Most of them actually use on-board recognition systems, call them in, the boot-van will show up if anything is 'hinky', but seem to ignore liveaboard.a.car/rv in Ballard.

It seems that Seattle couldn't give a rats ass (lol) if Ballard gets infested. Again.

I think there are two sides to every story and it would be interesting to hear from the old "biddy" that ronnyj complains about. I know I've had to call on cars parked out front of my house -- if they park across my driveway, up on the parking strip, etc. but I have usually spoken to the people before hand if I recognize them (the car) and where they live. I usually wait at least a week before calling on a car parked out front if its just parked there without moving, and then they get an extra three days after the orange sticker. When I report a car, giving the license number, the parking enforcement usually knows if they live in the neighborhood or not. Most cars I've called on out front have been dumped for one reason or another -- not working, stolen, etc.

I owe Ballard Girl an apology, I'm truly sorry. I was having a bad day and arguing with someone else in my mind and very poorly took it out on you. I'm not really that much of an obnoxious prick ... normally.

    Take care.

I wonder if there's people who are mean in this virtual forum, but really nice in person?

also, are there some nicey-nicey types on here that are jerks in the real world?

Ronnyj, thank you for the apology. I have been in your exact situation, so I know how it feels. It was an inconvenience to move my car twice a week. Heck, I even got to the point where I sold my car and went without for 2 years. But, even when it was a pain, the 72 hour rule preserved my right to park on my street. Without it, the people in apartments with extra cars would take over. Also, a note from a neighbor, even if it is poorly written, is better than an orange sticker! I honestly hope you are having a better day today!

Pennygirl, thank you for the kind words! You are FANTASTIC!

What a nice apology. It's easy to have a day when something comes out your mouth (or your fingers) that isn't nice. It's much harder to follow it up with something like that.
