Sorry for your loss ronnyj, it must be so hard to think about the loss of a family member so close to the holidays every year!

Ballardgirl - it is tough for awhile, especially at holidays. My brother died close to the holidays. When he was in the hospital & not doing very well, I started to notice every time I was either going to hospital or coming home this one song came on the radio. The day he died I got in my car to go home & there was the same song. The minister placed it at his funeral. It was Leanne Rhymes "How do I live without you." I couldn't hear that song for a very long time.
My mom - I missed her for a very long time and there was a song attached to her too. Year before she died we were together at New Years Eve (which I wasn't happy only because my boyfriend & I were supposed to go to Space Needle for dinner & elevator froze. I had really been looking forward to that. My boyfriend suggested going to where my mom was - thank goodness) At stroke of midnight my mom said I don't think I'll be here next year. And I said of course you will. You're fine. That next year my mom died of cancer. And the song was Auld Lang Syne. Again years before I could hear that song without bursting into tears.
So RonyJ & others, I feel your pain. But what I came to realize is that my mom and my brother wouldn't want me to grieve forever over them but celebrate their lives. (easier said than done initially)

RonnyJ- I will light a candle for you tonight. My Daddy just passed early November. I hope you find some solace in this most trying of day.

Aunt Salad, I'm so sorry - I knew your Dad was ill, but had realized he'd passed. Our hearts go out to you.

And my condolences to you, Ronnyj.
