Any recommendations for seasoned firewood?
Where to buy firewood?(5 posts)
There are lots of ads in the for sale section of Craigslist.
Prices will be at a premium this time of year, and be aware that one person's idea of
seasoned wood may not coincide with yours. I've seen ads for "seasoned rounds" of which there is no such thing. If the wood has been split and covered for at least six months you can probably consider it seasoned if you don't have a moisture meter to test it.
woodchucker, what range should the moisture % be for seasoned wood in this area / time of year ?
Rich, I believe it should be less than 28% but I can't seem to find a standard for it.
Washington's website only seems to deal with cord dimensions.
There is a site called the wood guys who have some good information on their site, they say they try to deliver with 15% or less moisture content, but I get my own wood so can't verify.
