Just heard about a woman the other day driving by construction where Sunset Bowl was - lots of fences up, flag men all over the place - obvious construction. This woman drives right into freshly poured cement & had to have car pulled out of muck. The corker - she demanded that police be called so she could file charges against the construction company! Only in Ballard.

Wonder if she is the same gal who nearly ran us into the Ravioli Station on Leary the other day. Turned across 3 lanes of traffic directly into the far right lane (I think coming out of the Fred Meyer). Lucky my husband was driving and has quick reflexes. Probably shortened the life of our nearly-new tires, though, scraping against the curb. She had to be within an inch of our car by the time she realized the lane she was trying to enter was already occupied!

So glad you didn't get hurt but does sound like she was as crazy a driver as this woman.

"Wonder if she is the same gal who nearly ran us into the Ravioli Station on Leary the other day."
Doubtful. It's astronomical to consider, considering the sheer number of morons driving a car, gender not with-standing.

One - I understand you like dogs. Go to the thing I just posted about dog lovers. If you are a lover of dogs, you will like this. It's the interaction between this sweet, sweet dog and a Down Syndrome child. It tears at your heart it's so sweet and wonderful.

Thanks, Buffalo for the youtube. Exactly what I'm talking about. Ballard for years was known - for whatever reason, as the land of bad drivers. (maybe because for long time an older population - don't know)

Not only in Ballard....
By the way, I try hard not to be a grammar nazi, lest I be judged as well, and I was going to let this one go until I did my google search for the porsche guy and almost all the articles had it wrong.
The driver got her car stuck in Concrete not cement. Cement is the powder (Portland Cement) that is used as a binder, along with aggregate and sand to make Concrete. whether you're describing the stuff that is coming out of the back of the "Cement Truck", or looking at the sidewalk, or a foundation, or the street, a wall, whatever, either wet or cured, it is always called concrete.

I stand corrected, Ernie!!!

Thanks for listening, it's a hang-up of mine....

ernie, I don't have no problem with you correcting grammar, but that error you refer me to is a mis-identification of object, not grammar .
Posted 5 months ago # -
correct or not, I do like the word 'cement' better than 'concrete'
rolls off the tongue better.
not necessarily grammatical as SA points out.

All right, so I'm a "grammar nazi" who, in this case, happens to be pointing out a mus-identification of a type of object..... :)
Posted 5 months ago # -
Okay Ernie - my turn. What's a "mus-identification" *L*
And have to admit I have always said cement - now I know better!Posted 5 months ago # -
It didn't happen in Concrete, it was right here in Ballard.
