Perhaps the hand of God?
Reminds me of that scene in Alien. Not the dumb sequels that sucked. The first one that was more suspense horror than shoot'em up extravaganza. Still with that said, I would have cut John Hurt in half and shot that f*cking six legged creature dead before it came out of that dudes stomach or my name is not onederfullone.
E- Where has Mini-Nugent been?
At a SHTF convention in Corvalis?
"Mini-nugent" - that's funny. Yes where has the little turd been?
Off grid useing his fence for firewood at some cave in Idaho?
Wow, it is both lovely and eerie. I wonder if it is fabricated.
Newborn babies do that. Just because baby ain't all the way out yet doesn't make it all that "amazing". Just my opinion.
the amazing part is that they named the baby something stupid like "Nevaeh" (heaven backward).
how the hell do you even pronounce that?

GI.. My sister works as a social worker at a hospital in Syracuse, NY. She had a woman come in and asked here daughters name. The woman Replied "Famolly" and my sister said what a unique name where did she get it from. The woman said the hospital named her "Female" on the birth certificate and stuck with it.
And your sister could (and probably should) lose her license to practice for breach of confidentiality. (Hopefully it is just one of those urban stories being passed around.)
e-dog, my buddy described to me in detail his wife's C-section, it sounded a hell of a lot worse than any scene in Alien.
Ernie, my former buddy video taped his wife's C-section & thought it was perfectly normal to share.
Scared of a c-section Ernie?!! You would be no help in any kind of grisly accident.
Cate... Give it up since I picked on Fatties in a park with cheese that got you all Dick-Bent
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ+Cate = Who cares.. You want to be the model snarky passive aggressive member have fun !!!
Don't have the equipment to get dick-bent.
really.. that is all you have ? Hiding behind a keyboard can be an illusion.
Since we have both met each other, I don't think either of us are hiding. I didn't realize you had a problem with me. However it is your problem because I don't have one with you.
Wooooo. Way out of line there, BH; kind of surprising from you.
I don't post much on this board simply because of generally snobbish biased and as many people say "snarky" posts. Buffalo Hawk was simply relating to him funny story about his sister and the name someone decided to call their child. Which in no way, by my knowledge of confidentiality laws (granted I know of Indiana's and every state is different) is a breach of them. He did not say she told him anything of the lady's conditions of health or her financial status. And you Cate told him that an obviously loved sister should be punished for that. Of course he would take offense. And Smartsy, I have noticed that you like to tell everyone but yourself that they are out of line with their postings even though you get pretty blunt and mean yourself.
I think Buffalo Hawk was correct in his assessment that since people do hide behind their keyboards, they feel they can be as judgmental as they want. Casual cruelty or rudeness on the internet is rife and people take the holier than thou attitude.
Lookie... everyone needs a hug and a kiss... :) Try to lighten up the mood..

Maybe it wasn't typical, I'm not familiar with the process, but he said it involved pulling out a bunch of intestines and other random organs and piling them up on the table, before pulling out the baby. I doubt that many women would want their husband's buddies watching a video of that.
So, as usual, PG is correct, if I happened on a grisly accident and someone had a big pile of internal organs sitting in a pile next to them, I would be of no help at all.
I was obviously wrong Ernie. I thought it meant you were just scared of blood and guts. I'm pretty sure that when someone has a c-section it involves removing the baby and the placenta. Which is what happens when it comes out the other way. Time to have a little chat with your friend Ernie.
Thinking about the Cate/BH thing that happened upthread.
Cate...I'm not sure if it struck some kind of chord with you, but that was not your normal measured reply. BH simply related a story. Jumping all over him was strange, especially when you used such strong words about his sister. I don't think that he was necessarily angry about what you posted but that you said it about his sibling.
First, BH story is one I have heard twice before so I am relatively sure it was not original to his sister. From a professional standpoint it reflects very poorly on my profession and professions like mine. Identifying a client is a serious violation of HIPPA as well as a violation of the Ethical Conduct Standards of NASW (National Association of Social Workers). But worse, it was humor based on portraying a client as ignorant. It is simply not acceptable to hold out a client as an object of ridicule. That story offends me as a professional and a person who works with immigrant families. And if I behaved that way with a clients Personal Health Information I would not be surprised to be fired.
Whoa! Hold up there Cate! Mighty assumptions going on. Where did he say that it was an immigrant family? Who's judging now?
As I said, I have heard this story before and the other two times it was directed towards a specific ethnic group. But my point Penny is that this type of behavior towards client confidentiality and in ridiculing clients is just professionally unacceptable, a violation of Federal law and professional ethical standards. I suspect his sister was just repeating a story she had heard for a quick laugh and didn't actually engage in the behavior herself but there are rightfully serious consequences for this type of behavior by Social Workers and related professions.
But BH didn't mention a specific Ethnic group. In fact he didn't mention much at all. I don't think he was ridiculing anyone - he was repeating a funny story. Funny funny - not funny taking the piss out of someone.
Hey. My Auntie Sheila never had a birth certificate. When my grandparents remembered they had to do it my grandfather trudged down to wherever it was to do whatever it was he had to. He got the name wrong and he lost the birth certificate on the way home. (Damn those Welsh pubs)
How's that for a quick laugh? Or did I breach family confidentiality?!!
Feel free to share...
Ben and Eileen Dover.
Hugh Jass. For the ladies. Now - who will be insulted by that?!!
I never said that BH mentioned a specific group, I said that my work with immigrant populations was one reason this story offended me. And yes your family story is a good quick laugh, but it is about your family - you are not a medical professional telling a story about an identifiable patient.
Give it a rest Cate. No matter how you try to paint this it won't get away from the fact that you overreacted.
"I never said that BH mentioned a specific group, I said that my work with immigrant populations was one reason this story offended me"
And that? That means that you are the one who is judgmental - assuming that BH was referring to a specific group.
So PG,should I have a funny story about one of your son's after he comes and sees me in a crisis, it is okay with you that I tell it on here in a way that makes clear who he is and that I saw him? Oh, and makes him look, well ignorant. And BH pretty much dropped this after my comments directed to him, why are you carrying on so?
If she did what she said, she broke federal law and her own professions standards. Why do you find that funny?
He dropped it because he told you how it is and he wasn'r very pleased with you. He had nothing more to say. How did BH's story make clear who the person was? Are you serious? He outed a stranger?
Right now you are trying to cover the fact that you seriously overreacted. Nothing more. Drop it.
Cate, she did in fact not violate HIPAA (I think you need to re-trained), "a person (anyone) came into my office and asked I their name and they said it was Bob" is ok to repeat and because this was from a movie (Nat lampoon vacation ??, or Raising Arizona ?) it is of the "I am way to sensitive and want to be the center of attention" category and we should just stop discussing it.
No Penny, I did not overreact. In Syracuse New York there is almost certainly only one family with a baby girl named Female and pronounced Famally. Your inability to understand the value and necessity of patient confidentiality and professional behavior overriding the desire to make a quick joke at a patient's expense is rather alarming.
Alarming? This is you overreacting again.
Inability? Am I stupid?
And guess what. You breached your own precious confidentiality by naming that person once again. Good job Cate. Shall I petition to have your license taken away?
Oh yeah Richy boy, all knower of all things, injecting your thoughts where you are not concerned. Just who is looking for some attention and adoration?
Cate you have made your point about this name, never would have thought about it being so easily identifiable myself. Let if go,
It's just getting worse and worse everyone, go to your corners

Pardon me for being a bit slow but...
Female = femolly = Tamale? So this is some kind of racial slur?
If so, it is really stupid even if one gives some poetic credit for what doesn't even amount to a half rhyme.
If that's not 'it' then I guess I just don't get the joke and maybe someone could explain.
This is MyBallard Cate. Not the New York Times. Nobody cares.
Tom Robbins +1
Wait. Femolly? Stop hating on the Irish! Seriously.
BH, I am developing a great respect for you :) And the picture was classic, actually. It was the cheese that did it for me.
haHa... Fail
I related a story from my sister over 17 years again with no ID except a first name and it is spun into a racist attack..Unless you are Native American we are all immigrants... Seriously !!! Maybe I should have map quested there address to validate the ASSumption for cynical members!!!!
Go Hawks !!!!!
PS my kittens approved this message;)
Male and Female
This is probably the second most prolific urban legend around. The story goes: An uneducated or non-English speaking mother gives birth to boy/girl twins. The hospital labels them "Male" and "female". Thinking the hospital has assigned the babies names, the woman officially calls her children Male and Female, only pronounced like Molly and Femolly.
And for PG;
I have had 2 CS and with both my organs were on the table beside me. Really shocked my husband the first time. I didn't have a clue though. Until I watched the video. It may not always be necessary. I had 10 lb babies. Maybe they needed more room. :)
Ernie--so what's the first most prolific urban legend around?
I once met a young woman who spelled her name La-a. she pronounced it "Ladasha"
she was not in my office/care so I don't think I'm outing her.
Considering the fact that it seems to be so rare, maybe you were the victim of a semi urban legend :-)
give me a good 'ol vaginal birth any day.
Talking of Urban Legends, the KFC deep fried rat story may have been a myth, but how are they going to explain this one?! Yuck!

Thanks PG - FYI for ALL- http://www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/
RIP intelligent and loving birds.
first hand account:
when I was in high school, a friend worked at KFC. he had to wear boots ("shit kickers") because the floor was so greasy.
one day a mouse ran across the floor and he kicked it against a wall (disgusting I know). he cleaned up the carcass, but a blood stain remained on the wall which he gladly pointed out to me when I'd come by for free biscuits.
That will become an Urban Legend in about 2 seconds GI. Now, if it had a name you would be in business.
gi - thank goodness you are not in high school now, hantavirus is deadly! :)
On a kinda sorta tangentially related note, did anyone hear the story on NPR last week about the teenage girl in Iceland who's suing the government because it won't officially recognize her name? Her name, Blaer, is not on a list of government-approved names, so her identification lists her first name as "Stulka," the Icelandic word for girl.
Crazy.
Buffalo - this femolly thing. A co-worker was interviewing this woman and asked how many children. She said she had twins. Asked their names and she said "Femolly and Molly." He said unusual name and she said, "well the hospital named them" and sure enough it was female and male. When he got back in the office he was laughing about this & told it to me. I thought it was a bunch of junk but someone was with him & confirmed it. And another twin set - no joke - one was "shitn" and the other was "shinola". I personally saw the paperwork with their names on it.
Someone named their kid "Shitn"? Some people really shouldn't be parents.
I met a girl with daughters named Paula and Paola. What, she couldn't come up with a name that sounded a little different?
Or one who named both twins George. And yep, that is the honest to God truth about Shitten. (I misspelled it in my first post - sorry). But yep it was Shitten Shinola which translates to Sh*t And Shinola when you say their names togehter (some didn't get that when we first came upon these names)
