   I'm looking for a rock star colorist in or near Ballard. My hairdresser of 10 years died in May, sadly, and she was a genius with color. It's hard to get blonde highlights right, but she always did an incredible job. She really knew her stuff.

   I've been to two hairdressers since May and neither did anywhere close to the job my previous hairdresser did.

   Can anyone recommend a good colorist, especially one who's good at blonde highlights?

   I followed Eunice from ballard to Fremont, she's now at Nola Salon. She is *wonderful* with my blonde needs, gets me back to the various shades in my hair that I just LOVE, and yet many friends don't believe me when I say I get my hair coloured!

   Jamie at Ceres in Phinney Ridge is amazing. I've been going to her for about 9 years. She has an incredible eye for color. No pornstar blonde for me!

   I know this isn't Ballard -- but Carolee at Creative Images in Wedgewood (35th & 87th NE). She is very reasonable price-wise and top notch in the color department. She told me once that if she had it all over to do all over again she would get into the chemistry part of dyeing hair because that's what fascinates her. On my hair (and I am an original blonde whose hair has darkened a bit, then it started turning white, not gray), she uses various lifters to highlight my hair, not bleach. People have no idea I color my hair and I give her credit for that.

   This is so subjective. I'd ask for photos of the blonde in question to know you are speaking the same language.

   Jessica at J-Tique. She is awesome and extremely talented with color. I have been going to her for 7 years. She is located on 24th around 77th i believe, near Soprano's. 206-783-0104. She runs the salon herself and its local! love love love!

    I have gone to Kim at McLaughlin Hair Design (206-282-7657) in the Magnolia Village since I moved back to Seattle about 5 years ago. She is amazing! She has done a few of my girlfriends hair for years and that is why I started going to her. I get blond highlights and she does a great job and is very reasonably priced. I pay $80 for a partial. Definitely worth the quick trip over the bridge!

    I would love to check out Haven since I live within walking distance. I'm a little leery, though, after reading some very bad reviews on Yelp.
