Ok fine,I admit it. It's me. Not a friend. Me. But it's not my fault. I made fun of my ex for playing it (I don't know, something about it being a silly fad) and he got me hooked and now I'm jonesin' so moving on:
I try to start angry birds on my computer and I get
failed to open data/shaders/GL2/2d-sprite-alpha-masked.fx with errno 2I
anyone know what to do?

You may have to delete it and then re-install. I run across some of this weirdness with my "screen" games from time to time.

If you have a junk cleaner, or if you delete temp files, you might have mistakenly erased part of the script the program needs. what that error is saying... from my limited experience... is that it can't open or find a file or code that is called shaders. Sounds like a part of a graphic file that "draws" part of the game. So yes, you'll have to uninstall it and reinstall it.

Thanks you guys. And you're right it could be worse. I could be addicted to 80's movies ;) The only thing I've understood so far is that I have to uninstall it and re install. Won't that make me lose all those 3 stars I've worked so hard for?

LIA - I asked the question why were the birds angry (I've never seen or played the game) but then realized everyone would think I was hopelessly clueless if I didn't understand the cultural phenomenon this game apparently is. So I used the edit function to remove my question. So while are the birds angry?

So here's the thing, the pigs stole the birds eggs and the birds are angry about that which I can understand.
The things that I think are weird bordering on icky and part of why I originally thought the game was stupid is that it has the joke ham and eggs going on so I don't know if the pigs carrying the pans are implying that they fry up their family members or if it's just supposed to be funny that the ham is frying the eggs.
Also, I tend to be logical and one of the birds flies over the pigs and drops eggs on them..... am I missing something? If you're mad that they are stealing your eggs, why are you throwing eggs at them. Kind of like the apple trees in the wizard of oz.
The way the pigs get blown up and get black eyes etc and the fact that you are flinging willing birds with a slingshot at the pigs and the birds say "ouch, ouch" and then poof they disintegrate took some getting used to.
Great Cate, thanks for getting me to enumerate the reasons why I think this game is weird and, as I said, borderline icky knowing all the while that I'll keep playing it.
I will if someone can tell me how to uninstall and re install. Any of you non computer challenged people willing to help my addiction? Or anyone know of some 12 step program in this area?

Every computer is different with different set ups, depending on if you downloaded the game, or had it on cd, there should be a file either in your downloads folder...which is in your documents folder usually.... that will have the angry birds .exe file. Can't really tell you how to reinstall without knowing if you downloaded the game or are playing a java version, or had it installed from a disk. You could try recovering your computer back to the day you knew the game stil played, but that can be tricky.

Thank you! I am pretty sure I have the full version because it never tries to sell me anything.
