1/12/13 - We have a large couch out front and the Salvation Army is coming Monday. It is green and in very good condition. The covers are removable for washing. It was made for big and tall people so it is deep and long enough for a six foot person to stretch out and nap easily. Trust me I know. Much to my chagrin, the wife thinks it is too big and overwhelms our small living room. If you would like to see it you can email me at cdpenne at the warmer than warm mail place. I am going to cover it in plastic.

So, just so we understand, 'Corvus' aka cdpenne has dumped a couch, and the 'covers are removeable', hope your neighbors are cool with a dumpted sofa.

I don't get it bg. why are 'covers are removable' in in half quotes (or whatever they're called) and why is it dumped if he put it out for the Salvation Army to pick up? And why am I on MyBallard at 1:30 in the morning reading a post about a couch when I don't want a couch?

yeah, it doesn't sound dumped at all (like that one at Adams Elementary last week).
Corvus was even putting plastic over it in case it (doubtfully) rains before Monday.
his neighbors could very well be cool with this 'dumbted sofa' unless there's been some copulating on that couch during the night.
I believe this is called 'humpty-dumpty' when you go about making love on discarded items.Posted 4 months ago # -
The couch is in my front yard. When I am ready to dump it, I'll move it in front of Ballardgirl's house - it sounds like she is used to that.
The removable cushion covers are a nice feature if you have kids or a dog, something which a lot of Ballardites have so it was worth mentioning.
My neighbors are normal people who like most people leave stuff out for the Salvation Army.

GI HA!
I understand what removable cushion covers are (and their advantages, with all my animals) I was just wondering why BG put it in quotes.

Apparently Salvation Army has a bit of waiting list and they can't come until the 22nd, next Tuesday. Fortunately it isn't supposed to rain. Anyway, the couch is covered in plastic and has few more days to linger out front. So if anyone is in need, you might have a look here first. This is not your usual dumpster or curbside fare.
