We were in there last night and one of the owners told us they're opening a new place in Fremont called the Six-Gill. She said it will be similar to the Noble Fir but bigger and with a kitchen. They must be doing well. Good for them.

Also, I had some seriously delicious cider at Noble Fir. It was Sea Cider Prohibition (the company is in B.C.). Aged in bourbon barrels. Tasty stuff.

CR - darn, I was in there last week and neither Rick or Elaine mentioned that. I always worry about them because they work so hard at The Noble Fir, they were even in there on a Monday which is their day off!
I hope they do good at anything the venture to take on. They are really nice people and they appear to have a success with The Noble Fir.
    Thanks for posting this. :)

VB, they might not have said anything to us about it either, but we'd heard from someone and asked Ellen, and she told us a little about it. I took it as a sign they must be doing well. They are nice, and sure do seem to work hard.

We were saying while we were there that Noble Fir is a great spot because it has excellent beer, isn't overrun with hipsters and is somewhere you could take your mom and dad, or your friends. It has a nice balance. And I'm going back for more of that delicious cider.

Yeah I think the news broke 3 months ago or so? Due to open in the spring in one of the new buildings by Theo. Supposed to focus on seafood/northwest style food.

SEdholm - thanks for the link, sounds like it is going to be a neat place.

Looking forward to it, haven't heard anything lately on their timeline. Love what they've created at the Noble Fir, definitely my favorite beer bar in the neighborhood.

I've stopped drinking. Do they have water on tap?

I have never been to Noble Fir but after reading this thread I am interested in checking them out. Do they have a Happy Hour and curious about there prices.

Buffalo - do you know when the new owners of old Zesto's are going to open? Windows are all covered. I'm hankering for some Mexican food.

I have been wondering the same thing since they said they where trying to open by EOM 12-12. I am really looking forward to it since I live pretty close to the Goodwill and it will make a nice alternative and walk. There is a nice story on the Greenwood forum about the new Fred Meyers scheduled to open February 1st. I am looking forward to that since I pass it going and coming home from work.

I once bought socks at Fred Meyers. I have not been back since.

The Fir has HH, it is like a $1 off beer. There food can be a little expensive (I want to say $12 for 3 kinds of cheese platter) and their can be like $5-9? If you want a harder to find beer like Urban Family has, this is the place, if you want a cheap beer, avoid it. I hope they new place is similar but
