I think I turned up one or two on Aurora but they had horrible customer reviews. I need a dryer but don't want to go with craigslist because I need it delivered.

I always thought used appliances were synonymous with bad customer service?

I am not sure if they sell new or used items since it is a distribution center but maybe call Albert Lee Appliance in Ballard .

Not sure when the stores usually clear out the previous model year inventory, but that can be a good time. It's also worth asking about scratch/dent/returns at the big places like Albert Lee, Sears, BestBuy, and so forth.

Miss Julie go to a Sears Appliance Outlet. They have discounted close out, scratch/dent, and/or returned appliances that get cheaper every month in stock and they deliver. You can even return stuff that isn't working for you.

You can search inventory of local store (Shoreline, Tacoma, etc) online. Their website is horrid but worth the hassle.

Sears improved its outlet website -- it is pretty decent now. Once you put in your zipcode you can see what is available in your neighborhood, and you can break it down by type of appliance. They put all the locally available items in the category you are searching in one tab, with another for the nationwide inventory. It does keep defaulting to the nationwide tab and the "sort by price" feature is wonky, but it is a huge improvement over the old, totally unsorted local website. The lowest price I saw just now was $350 for a Whirlpool dryer.

You can still look on Craigslist -- small dealers advertise there. The Appliance Liquidators at 83rd and Aurora say they have a basic dryer for $175 and they offer delivery. Search dryer+delivery to narrow things down, although of course this will also pick up ads that say "sorry, no delivery."
