I found a boxer wandering Market St @ 24th tonight. Approximately 12:30 a.m. No name on collar, just a pet licence number. He is safe at my house in Loyal Heights and is in good hands. I will be up for a few hours doing homework if anyone is missing their beefy pooch please call me at 206-225-3791. He is very sweet but is sad & missing his home.

has the owner been located? and did the dog eat your homework?
This is a good post to let people know that the City of Seattle Animal Shelter has introduced a new online tool to get pets reunited to their owners. Check it out here:
It is called ROMPS. Reuniting Owners with Missing Pets System. It is a brand new online database that has been created to speed the process of the whole lost and found traumatic process, both for the people and pets.
It is set up for people who have lost pets as well as those who find them.
And it works!
As a volunteer at the Shelter, I always encourage people who find lost animals to bring them to the Shelter. The reasons are numerous, the safe keeping of the animal is number one. A lost pet at a strange house can get into lots of trouble.
There are are very few reasons not to.
The animals are never euthanized because they are lost. Never.
They get supervised care and are always safe.
