OK, I know it's after Christmas and I took down my multicolored outside lights but I want to put up some solid color (probably clear) lights now, calling them "winter" lights. Can't find 'em. I got a tip to go to Big Lots off Aurora but they are all gone. Anyone know where I can pick some up. I'm figuring I should be able to get them dirt cheap by now...

It is not Ballard, but I was in the City People's Nursery on Madison Friday and they had some.

Nursery, never thought of that. I'm right around the corner from Swanson's up here in Hillbilly land (love that phrase, not sure if I'm being dissed though, probably).

My vote is Display & Costume by Northgate.

Bartells?
My neighbor puts up long large icicle lights for winter. I like the idea

GAM - I just looked on Costume & Display website for the Northgate store. They do list them but they are listing them at "Pre-Christmas" prices. Way more than I paid at FM before Christmas too. I want them but I don't need them that bad. bummer

I don't think Swanson's has them now. I was there last week and they didn't have much left in Christmas stuff.

I was in Display & Costume over a week ago, looking for cardboard snowflakes for an art project. They were in the process of packing up all Christmas items and had to dig through a couple boxes for me to find the snowflakes. I was kind of surprised they even put away winter themed things so soon.

If you don't mind red with your white, you might be able to find some Valentine lights. (patent pending)

What, VB? Not interested in Saint Patrick Day lights? (patent pending)

Just stopped in Bartells. They are out. Hope you find the somewhere.
I used to host a post ice skating get together on Valentines celebration and decorate the Xmas tree with red hearts, leaving the white lights on. After that the tree came down.
