We are making a Gouda cheese specialty that I've been craving for a long time, and my mom just sent me the recipe. It was a New Year Eve tradition.

1 and half lbs. Gouda Cheese.
    1 1/2 tbsp parsley.
    1 tbs white wine
    1 1/2 tsp dry mustard
    1/4 tsp Worcestershire
    1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
    Dash onion powder
    Add Mayo to thin consistency.

Blend Gouda and add ingredients to desired consistency. should be thick but spreadable.
    Served best with Tricuits.

It also known to satisfy... "co-workers in an office" hehe....

Just don't heat it in the microwave. Your co-workers might get irked.

A hell of a lot of noise I imagine. Other than that, check the QFC ad. Probably going to go with party trays. Got to focus on the game.

Kaepernick wings... the tattoos are put on just before you deep fry them... wait 20 minutes after cooking before you kiss them...

Do they have "Kaepernick tattoos" on the crust, or merely cheese?

I'm not watching the Superbowl, but it seems like a good excuse to drink on Sunday.

Compass Rose, when I lived in Calif Superbowl Sunday was a fine time to go to Disneyland. As it stands now, I think it will be a fine time to go to Costco. And drink, of course.

We will be attending a violin recital. I guess violin teachers do not make up the bulk of the Superbowl target market; ours had no idea she had set up the recital with any sort of conflict. Once the bowing is over we will head to a friend's house up by Carkeek to celebrate "the American secular Easter" as the party invite put it, though we will miss kickoff and a slew of entertaining commercials.

I'll probably bring brownies to the recital. Just bought some tamales from a guy who came by my workplace and will bring those for Superbowl noshing unless we eat them all first. They are very good; it will be hard to wait/share...

    Woo-hoo a food thread...

For the 9'ers fans coming over cioppino & sourdough with Ghirardelli chocolates for a treat. For the Ravens fans that will try to co-habitate for a few hours with the 9'ers fans, pit beef sandwiches & crab cakes with Berger cookies for dessert. We'll do truffle popcorn and chips & guac for those that can't commit to one team or the other.

This will be a little more challenging than last year when I was just able to make a big pot of New England clam chowder & NY-style deli sandwiches, but at least Mrs. J won't have to pick through 2LBS of peanut M&M's to get just the blue & white ones.

...when I lived in Calif Superbowl Sunday was a fine time to go to Disneyland.

I was at the new Fred Meyer this morning and went downstairs to check things out, plus take a break from the craziness upstairs. There was a young boy who watched his mom load their cart into the cart-escalator, and he said "WOW! That is so COOL! This is JUST like DISNEYLAND!" I looked back at his mom, but her expression was noncommittal; I'm guessing she hears this all the time.

The new store wasn't quite Disneyland for me, but it is a beautiful store. And I'm not sure what I'm making on Sunday. I have some frozen chicken wings so I'll make a bleu cheese dressing; maybe a spinach & artichoke dip; and probably a spicy chex-mix variant called Texas Trash. I just like the butter & Frank's hot sauce-soaked cheese Ritz Bits and Fritos.

Yeah! There's a great idea for the future of pro football. Play that game on a 160 foot wide by one hundred yard escalator. Put the half time "entertainment" on it also, ha ha!

why do you have "entertainment" in quotes iPlod?

do you not realize what an immense talent Beyonce is and how long she must practice in the mirror to lip sync convincingly?

C'mon, gi. Beyonce doesn't have real lips you silly yoyo. They're synced.
She has to sync lip sync. It's all computerized for you, especially if you voted wrong.

A honkin' big pot o chili that is already simmering away as I type! A honey corn bread, and lots of beverages. Should be fun. Oddly enough, it was my wife who called the gathering! She has turned into a sports fan, unlike moi who usually gets to Superbowl Saturday before I know who is actually playing!! But I will gladly cook for the gathering and sample it all heartily in the interests of quality control!

    Have fun everyone!!

Chex mix and Costco deep dish pizza, which I must say is pretty good. Much better than their regular pizza.Usually get Northlake, but this will do for now. Enjoy the game!

I made chicken wings. They were epic. http://eatingketo.blogspot.com/2012/01/buffalo-wings.html
    You're welcome.

The hosts made velveeta dip and philly cheesesteaks. The food was SO good. I hate football so much, and I stuck with that whole game - power outage and all. Best superbowl ever.
