Just an FYI for folks that may not have seen the flyer.
The new Fred Meyer in Greenwood - 100 NW 85th Street, is giving away 200 kids helmets on Saturday Feb. 2nd between 11 AM and 1 PM. to the First 200 Kids.
If your kids or friends kids need helmets this is a great opportunity to get a free helmet.

unless you have a little pin-head, you should be able to get one buff.

maybe bring a picture of her just in case.

D - nothing to do with CBC. It is just FM and wonderful that they can do this.

BH - they might, it is worth a try if you know what size she will need. I do know at the club we only sell them to people/kids that we can fit them on, but this might be different. If you can get your daughter to measure around her head above the ears (where the helmet goes) in cm then you can check the measurements on the label inside the helmet and find one that will fit. It is normally in metric measurement.

gi - the info did state "the First 200 Kids" so if there are loads of kids it might be difficult to get one without the kid.

BH - it was wet when I was thinking of going last Sunday so ended up not going, but this Sunday might be dry, if so I will be there for a few hours.

BH, if we're there when they are passing them out I'll try to get one for you (we have our own). If you score one anyway, a needy kid will always turn up.

I know vb, but if some sad looking panda came in giving some sob story about not having his daughter that weekend and showed a picture of the two of 'em on his phone, I'd hope they'd have some empathy (good pr and all).

sounds like it will be a zoo there this weekend! (at freddy's)

gi - I have done free helmet give-away events in the past and they are normally a "zoo". Lot's of eager kids and parents, I normally return home totally drained but happy. :)

Maybe the nice weather will draw away folks to the real Zoo! The Greenwood FM has a lot of good coupons that expire on Sunday, so I'll be heading over as well.

Speaking of helmets, I noticed a couple of interesting items recently:
    1) The state legislature may abolish the motorcycle helmet requirement.
    2) I recently discovered the TNT show Falling Skies (free for Amazon Prime members!) and noticed a few quirks. Among others, in that post-alien-invasion world with the survival of humanity in doubt, even adult soldiers never wear helmets, while kids on push scooters do!

I'm sorry BH, I did not go. I saw the traffic and my fight-or-flight kicked in. I will keep my eye out for you, however. What size clothes/shoes is she wearing these days?

No worries, Thanks anyways! :) She's a 2 in shoes and a 10 in clothes. She'll be six this month. If your little one is younger or smaller, we have clothes that we "pay forward" or try to rehome to others also.

Wow, yours is growing fast! I was going to offer you our gently worn, but we are a petite 7.5yo, working our way into size 7/8, size 13-1 shoe. Might have some toys to purge. Interests?

LOL!!! No we are trying to get rid of toys also. :) We do have a big Little Tykes art desk that we are giving away if you're interested. It holds alot of art supplies, and has a big area for painting, drawing. Are you still interested in getting small reptiles? We have 3 leopard geckos with all the trimmings that we need to rehome cause we moved into a a place where we don't have as much cage space, and our little one plays almost exclusively with the chameleon. And the two cats.. lol...

Thank you, I'm afraid we don't have the space for the art desk. However, I may be interested in the geckos.
