    Your avatar looks just like the fracture I had two years ago. I just had the hardware removed from my ankle (three plates, nine screws), and it was the best thing I ever did. I can't believe how much better my mobility is, and how much more flexible my ankle is now. Just thought I'd share.

    Good to know, DDF. My step-Dad has metal in his ankle also, which still bothers him. Your post is encouraging news I'll let him know about. Thank you.

    Do it. Metal in the bones is not normal. I feel so good having it out.

    By the way iPlod, the surgery took about 20 minutes.

    Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. I'm afraid it will cause more problems than I currently have. Only 20 minutes to remove?
