Before last June, the liquor store up on 15th around 70th specialized in absinthe. Granted, I couldn't afford most but the bottom end, but I like to have a choice. Now they are closed and most stores are going to have either no absinthe or just one. Anybody know a place not too far that has an ok selection with one or two affordable brands?

Phoo, have you tried the liquor store on Market? It's still open.

I haven't, but they didn't have absinthe in the first place. The fellow up on 15th made it his mission to stock it. IIRC, the place down on market did tequila, but I could be remembering that wrong.

Phoo, if the store on Market doesn't have absinthe, ask for it. They've taken special orders in the past. I bought a few bottles of blood orange liqueur and elderberry liqueur there. Both were originally brought into the store as special orders.

It's possible that Wineworld in Wallingford might have it.

Whenever I see or hear "Wineworld", Clark Griswold never fails to enter my head as well.

CR: Thanks! I had no idea that they would carry liquor. Actually, I haven't really heard of them, but I'll look them up.

You might not have to wait too long for another alcohol shopping option to become available. Bevmo is supposed to be opening soon.

Thanks, folks! I've had another vote for Wine World, so I'll be looking them up soon.
VB: That's cool! It can be difficult to get ahold of the proper wormwood - I remember when I was buying other herbs, I saw a company that had it, but it was sold out.

There is a BevMo now where the Northgate liquor store used to be. And it's awesome.

I recall seeing a couple at the Metropolitan Market on Lower Queen Anne when I was in there about two weeks ago. I am pretty sure that they have the Pacifique (Woodinville) and also Marteau. I would be surprised if the QFC in Ballard did not have at least one or two -- particularly Pacifique.

Wineworld has about ten or fifteen different absinthes. Their rather large selection of local distilleries is also awesome.
