I just got an iPhone5...selected Sprint as a carrier because I liked the word "unlimited"...seems slow...is that because there are no Sprint towers in Ballard? Thought this phone was going to be so speeeeedy. For the most part I really like the phone but I'm kinda pissed the data is slow to load. I can barely afford to go to Bellevue so coverage in a remote spot is not something I would likely need or regret not having. I notice there are few towers for any of the carriers in this neck of the woods. T-Mobile has tons of them everywhere but they have the WORST customer service in all the land. I have 2 weeks to try out Sprint...anyone else have Sprint as a carrier for their iPhone? Care to share your two cents worth?

Really, I have T-Mobile, they always have provided me with fantastic customer service, and with one call have fixed any problem I have had.

Boost operates over sprint networks. Works fine for me. I have full data and am happy with it. Sprint is one of the carriers (all but verizon) who will throttle if you get over 2mb of data, but I haven't noticed an issue with it. Webpages tend to be slow, but they have always (and probably always will be) slow on phones. FB, email, google maps, all good. I do not however have an iPhone.
Does your phone use 4G and did you pay for it? The original iPhones used only Edge which IS slow. There's also 3.5G (HSPDA? H something...) and that works too. I do not have 4G. Then there's the old school 3G.

Nora, I think the iPhone5 can only access Sprint's 3G network, which is widespread, but not that fast. Virgin Mobile (owned by Sprint) also uses Sprint's 3G network, and they now sell the iPhone4S with $35/45/55 per month plans (different voice minutes, 2.5GB of data and unlimited messaging).
Like Sprint, TMobile is going to switch over to a 4G LTE network (which will take at least a year or two), but apparently its current 3G network is faster than Sprint's 3G network, acting more like a 3.5G network.Posted 2 months ago # -
Always one to buck the trend. I'll stick my neck out and proclaim to be a quite satisfied AT&T 4G LTE iPhone 5 user. Unlike all the numerous comments you hear about them as a carrier I've never had a dropped call and consistently have 4, if not 5 bars in certain areas. Not to mention blazing fast data speeds.

AT&T +1
Do you have wi-fi at home? That makes a big difference with data.

I also have an iphone 4s...love it and have had NO problems with it. At least in the Sunset hill area. Am much happier with it than Tmobile, and have not had them slow the speed at all with the Sprint service that I have. Perhaps is just your location...wi-fi at your home does speed it up even more. But I switched from Tmobile to now Sprint because of better speed and service.

SHM, I think downtown Ballard has a lot more than 4 or 5 bars!
