Just wondering if anyone heard the new LA Fitness is going to be a premier club? Anyone know what that means? We all joined the one on Aurora, but were hoping to use the Ballard one also since we are halfway between both. Thank you!

Yes, the new LA Fitness in Ballard is going to be a premier club. And because it's a premier club you probably will have to pay an extra fee if you want to work out here too (even if you have a multiple club membership).

thanks! would you know why it's a premier club? what will be added to their "normal" clubs? would you know the fee? no one at the aurora club could answer my questions...

I've been told that the Ballard LA Fitness will have a towel service and a juice bar but I guess that's not all that makes it a premier club ;-) I don't know the fee, but I did receive a flyer in the mail today saying that if you enroll now (before Dec. 15) you can receive Pre-Opening Specials.

hmm. that's odd. alot of them have juice bars you have to pay for, and the aurora one offered towel service for like $5 a month when we signed up (over a year ago now). i wish they would put something on their website.

Yes, I agree, they do a terrible job at communicating. They haven't even informed their members at Westlake (who, I've been told, will all be transferred to Ballard since the Westlake club is most likely going to close) when Ballard is going to open up. As I said, I found out yesterday by the flyer I received in the mail. I get all my info from the instructors at Westlake because the staff there is not able (or willing??) to give out any information.

there is an LA fitness rep that hangs out on the west end of the ballard farmers market on sundays. i am sure that he would know a lot of the answers to your questions.

Just what Ballard needs....more LA influence. Won't someone please tell Mr LA to go back home. We have our own fitness clubs. I don't like the approach of people pushing an LA type thing in our neighborhood......and those who agree should let him know.

Will the LA Fitness have TV's built into the cardio machines? I know OAC has a few and they are quite nice. My gym at work has spoiled me, TV's in all the cardio machines.
