We just had out lights black out for a second... then they came on. About a second later that was a big Pop sound outside... we have good insulation so it was most likely was loud.
Anyone else have a power flicker? Or are you all sleeping?

Yep, ours just went out on sunset hill, kind of weird cause there is no wind....
We're at 15th and 51st-ish. Ours went out, too, but we can still see the Bardahl sign going. BTown, just curious - where abouts are you?
Good to know... I always worry that my brain tripped a fuse when that happens. :D
Yep dark here on 52 and 15th (west of)
My power went out at 12:01 am and is still out. From my place I can see that a lot of Fremont is out, and a swath where 8th NW runs north and south. I'm near 15th & Market and the Walgreens here is out, but Ballard Market and Safeway both appear to have power.
I live on the Ballard/Sunset Hill divide (32nd Ave.) North of 65th.
We've got no power here by Market and 24th, looks like everything around here is black
I am working at the hospital tonight and we lost power for about 10 sec before the generator kicked in. From our high perch it looks like all the buildings around here are out.
Didn't a raccoon or some critter short the power out last year at the Fremont Sub-station around this time of year?
I guess we somehow have some kind of power or we would not be communicating. But, the lights are definately out up here. Thank goodness for our iPhone, It made it very easy to find the flashlight.
Laptops here. :D Our internet is on APC's so as long as Comcast didn't loose a line internet keeps running just like how phone lines usually work when the power is down. But we still have power... I didn't hear our APC trip either...
I'm at 57th & 20th and am trying to track down my UPS's in the dark to stop their infernal beeping! Seems like we'll be waiting a while...
Posting from my iPhone. It takes forever!
The Swedes are aware of the outage. City Light isn't ansering.
My scanner won't work on battery power, so I got nuttin.
I used to have a ups, but got rid of it because of the evil beeping. Funny thing was, I had forgotten we had one, took me a while to figure out where the beeping was coming from.
Silver, I got a police scanner for my iPhone, guess I should fire it up.
I called city light and went through the automated system to report an outage "make your circuit breaker has not tripped...". No City Light I think yours has. You can report at 684-3000.
Seattle City Light's outage hotline is at 206-684-7400. No info there. Enter your telephone number--maybe they will accept it.
I'm up near 80th and Linden (Greenwood-ish). Power out here, too. I called and reported it around 12:05.
BallardGirl - please do!
Donarb - Ha! No doubt! They really out to have better system for communicating with their customers during power failures!
I'm at 26th & 56th and it went out here at 12:01. It's pitch black all around; I'm on my iPhone.
My neighbors are either impatient or were having a party cuz they're all leaving. It's 1 am, so I dunno what they could possibly need to go do!
Down in the angle streets, across from Swedish Medical. The entire neighborhood is out, including street lights. Hospital still has power. Anyone know a good chat room for the area?
Silver, I checked the police scanner and not much action, mostly static
I'm at 45th and Dayton on an iPhone. We've been out since about 12:01. I can see a street lamp on about 2 to 3 blocks north. And I just bought groceries too grrr.. This better be over soon.
Heard a loud *pow* as power went out. Funny thing is I had just gotten out of shower and washed my hair; and I had just turned on the hair dryer for a few moments. I thought it was me.
I'm at 52nd and 15th. Just west of. Went outside. It felt like the apocalypse. Well, just my block. Yes, thank goodness for the Blackberry.
Oh and east I see nothing on this side of 99, south at least the next 2 blocks are out.
city light outage hotline has a recorded msg acknowledging the outage now: puget sound to aurora, 84th NW to ship canal, 12,000+ customers affected. no known cause yet, crews on site looking into it, no known repair time yet.
Nothing on any of the TV station web sites.
Web report on PhinneyWood, Linden and 81st/82nd.
Web report on Fremont Universe, for west side of Stone Way. Power reported still on in Wallingford.
Nothing on Magnolia Voice, nothing on Queen Anne. Anyone have reports for further north?
Woo-hoo! It's back at my place (26th & 56th)!!
Still on with no interruptions all evening at 32nd and 69th. Looks like we missed it by only a few blocks too.
We never had the lights even so much as flicker up on 31st north of 80th.
Power just came back on for the Leva buildings near Market & 15th.
Power back here in the angle streets.
Power back on at 56th and 15th.
Still out around 8th Ave NW and also 3rd Ave NW.
Still out in the parts of Fremont that I can see from here.
However, I know that it could go back out at any time. I'd better eat the rest of the ice cream to be sure it doesn't go bad.
Dammit, Silver, I was about to go to bed until you mentioned the ice cream.
My part of Sunset Hill was out from MN to about 01:15. I heard a dull thuddy/poppy noise right before the lights went out. Toocute, I thought it was me, too!
I listened to KOMO radio, all they said was that there was a power outage in Fremont. I thought about calling them to tell them HEY, BALLARD IS OUT, TOO, but I would've had to dig out a phone book to look up their number.
But I wasn't about to start searching for an old phonebook, especially not by flashlight. And especially not while eating ice cream.
I hope power is back on now... I left to a friend's home in Queen Anne to finish drying my hair and surf the net. I'm so tired. It better be back on when I get home, so I can turn the heat on. Brrr... it's cold.
Does anyone know what the cause was?
