   There is a Basenji/mix maybe who has been at the dog park barking and going from one gate to the other - obviously looking for loved one. Don't know if it ran away and went there and someone let it (just realized I didn't look at the privates to know if it's a male or female) in or if someone left it there. It finally came to me after about 30 minutes. There is a tag on - not a Seattle Pet License but a name tag - LUNA is the dog's name and there was a 425 and 206 phone number. We called and left a message on the 206 number at about 3:10p.
   Does anyone know LUNA???

   Sad as it sounds like the dog was looking very hard for it's owner.

   I have met Luna before. I'm racking my brain trying to remember just where and when. The owners did not seem the type to abandon. I am betting the dog got out and ran there and then someone let it in figuring trapped is safer than running. Try the number again. They are probably out looking for the dog.

   It could be the owner(s) are out of town and left Luna with a petsitter and Luna got loose and went to familiar place looking for the owner. Oh, my. Have you taken in the dog until this all gets sorted out? Sad. Need to find the owner. Thanks for your stepping in to help.

   If you ever see a stray/unattended dog please call 386-PETS and have animal control come and get it. If you can keep it contained/safe until they get there, even better. The shelter will immediately scan them for a microchip and check for licensing info, if there's no chip, and will keep the dog safe until its owners are found. People do frequently abandon dogs at dog parks (or, sometimes they tie them to a tree in a regular park); other times a lost dog will hang out at a dog park.

    Luna was at the dog park by Golden Gardens. When I went yesterday about 11:00a - she/he was not there so I can only assume that someone picked her/him up after receiving the message we left on Tuesday.

    I have heard tales that there are people that leave their dogs at the dog park while they go to work or run errands.
