Supposedly the best way to find a wedding photographer is to get a referral from someone who has worked with them, so here I am asking. Has anyone worked with someone recently who they would recommend?

    Thanks.

I just got married this summer and we used Jenny GG. She rocked it. Here is my wedding pictures: http://www.jennygg.com/2009/07/i-see-weddings-nina-tom-on-the-south-lake-union-trolley.html

She did over 40 wedding this last year so she has a lot of wedding experience. Good luck.

Bradley Hanson shot our wedding and he is more than amazing. He gets shots that will wow you. I think he may be a ninja.

As is Jenny Jimenez. She shot our reception and made everyone feel at home and snapped amazing pictures of a really fun party.

Sarah Jurado has a great eye and I don't know anyone who loves love more than she does.

Remember, your photographer is with you all day. All three above are the kind of people you'd like to have around. All three have the tremendous ability to catch you being you and not just posable figures in great outfits.

  6. I would absolutely recommend Adam Smith. I found his card in a coffee shop in Ballard, and he shot my rehearsal and wedding this summer. He was great to work with, totally blended into the background for most of the night, and gave us over 2000 photos to do with as we please for a very fair rate! If you want a photo journalism style photographer, he's your guy!

  8. If you want the absolute best, can afford it, and he's not already booked, this is your man: http://www.jgarnerphoto.com/

He's a friend of my husband's from high school, rated one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the WORLD, and is a really great guy on top of it! We would have loved to have had him shoot ours, but he was booked three years prior for our date!

Alyssa at http://www.alyssarosephotography.com/ has an amazing ability to capture those hard-to-catch moments & emotions, in my opinion. I haven't used her for a wedding but I love her work in other settings and she is so patient and easy to talk to, I'm sure she'd be a very calming presence on a wedding day! Plus she is a big supporter of PAWS, I think.

Another Ballard guy... Lowell Sannes, http://www.lowellsannes.com/ does great work. Does all types of photography; weddings, senior photos, family shots. He's based out of Poulsbo now, but knows some great spots in Seattle to shoot "on location", especially if you want outdoor, natural lighting pics.

Wow! Way to go, Ballard peeps! I will be following up on some of these and then trying to decide who to pick. I'm glad to have so many good references from people who are happy with their wedding photographer. Thanks!

Hey GTS, I wonder if that's the same Della Chen I used to work with at Ivey Seright back in the early 90's? Either way, the stuff on her website looks great, nice reccomendation.

My wife and I happened upon Clane at the farmer's market about two years ago. He did our wedding and then my best man's wedding a month ago. He is amazing. I could not imagine a more helpful, competent, engaging, amazing photographer. Honestly, the thing that gets me is that Clane not only knows how to make you stress less, he does it while making you look better than you thought you could.

I've had some pretty nice photos taken of me in the past. Prior to moving to L.A. I had some headshots taken by the same photographer that did Howard Stern's headshots. Some really pricey photos. They don't compare to Clane's work. Understnding that I'm gushing at this point, you really should check him out.

I would HIGHLY recommend Sacha Blue www.sachablue.com. I've seen her work, she's done a friends wedding and did a boudoir shoot for me. AMAZING...and very easy to work with. I ran into her when she took scuba lessons from me...but her wedding photography is more like an artists piece or a magazine spread than the "traditional" shoots.
