SPD is currently involved in some kind of stand-off on 4th Ave NE. I *think* the cross street is something like 82nd, which would put it up near Maple Leaf.
It sounds like they just deployed "flash-bangs" in an attempt to get the suspect's attention.
I do NOT believe that this is related to the recent assassination of the officer at 29th and Yesler.
Mention was made, at one point, of a victim that went next door to call police. They also said that there is a gunsafe in the house, and that the suspect was suicidal.
I believe that SWAT is on the scene.
Chances are that we will be reading about this in the paper tomorrow.
