Where's the post about the whereabouts of the cream colored van? It's a shame that this posting has been removed. The community should be aware of the history of this van and the drunken antics of its inhabitants. All of the information that was posted about this van was public information.

Here's a brief summary of the van. The van doesn't appear to run since it's always seen being pushed by its occupants. The van was silver when I first saw it several months ago on 14th Ave. A few weeks later it was painted violet (after it was reported as abandoned). As of a few days ago it had been painted a cream color. It seems these people have a system going. It's pretty unusual to paint your car multiple times in a few months. When was the last time you ever heard of anyone painting their car 3 times within 6 months?

A handicap parking permit is hanging from the rear view mirror. If you look up the van's license plate number online you can find the name of the owner and learn of the numerous traffic tickets he has received as well as his arrests for theft. Not the kind of neighbors you want parked long term living right outside your home.

How can you look up a license plate online?

FYI a few days ago it was reported to the police again (this time indicating that it meets the SMC classification of a junk vehicle as it is inoperable with non-functioning motor and had been in its spot for over 24 hours). The following night a pink sticker was on the windshield saying it must be moved before 11/6 or it would be impounded... and today it has been moved. Perhaps the authorities took it away as a junk vehicle, or perhaps the owners pushed it down some side street... somehow I suspect the latter.

The van has been tagged numerous times. The owners roll it to a new location. I'm sure it will be spotted again.

That information was given by a reader in a post that I started several months ago when I spotted the van on 14th Ave. That post appears to be taken down because it stated the license plate number. I used the license plate number to look up the owner and then used his name to find his numerous traffic offenses and criminal arrests. Sorry, I didn't save the website. Maybe someone else did.

It was also noted during an earlier post that the van has changed its license plate at least once too.

I would like to know how it's done. I don't see a link on the Washington DMV web site. You can pay a service that might find it.

    Still interested.

They must have infractions for anything to show up though.

And like magic, it's back! Just one block south of it's prior location. It's now just south of NW 63rd Street on 20th Ave NW. I spoke with the neighbors who are none too happy and said they'd be calling the cops. Here we go again...

Sure would be nice if we had a law that allowed for nuisance vehicles such as this to be permanently evicted from our neighborhood

They've moved again... one more block south, now just south of NW 62nd St.
