it gets lower....the folks at Bartell Drugs and Joanne Fabrics have reported that "The fat girl with the pit bull" (recently sans scary boyfriend) has, apparently a new squeeze, and they have been having sex in the far corner of the Bartell parking lot this week, right after closing.

For the love of GOD, at least take it out of the public view.

(cue sound of cat coughing up hairball.)

Ick. I would imagine that Silver will be posting a scanner call about a helluva fight when the ex happens upon this behavior. There will be drama folks. Wait for it.... a restraining order being broken.

I'm certainly happy I didn't witness this because I'd have to put my eyes out. I actually drove by that lot after closing the other night...apparently I had just missed the show.

I don't know if someone called the cops or not...but are people so blase, and so used to porn (ok, this would come under the heading of nasty, nasty vagrant porn with fat girl) that no one thinks that perhaps we don't want our kids exposed to tihs sort of thng (not to mention the rest of us) and that it's illegal, as well as offensive?

I frequently park in that lot after they close and go to the Bay Theatre, and I assure you it is pretty much the last thing I want to see. "hey, let's take the kids towatch "Tramsformers" and then take in the floor show at the Bartells Parking lot!"

( few years back, perhaps 2, the patrons of Lombardi's were treated to a similar view at Bergen Park.)

    Nasty, nasty, nasty.

Eew, Jules, that is so gross!

Maybe they can have their parking lot monitor (the older gentleman, in the orange vest) work a bit later in the evening.

I've lost my appetite for breakfast. NOT a pretty mind picture.

Wow... You'd think the weather's been much too nasty for this to happen.

This belongs in "Tales From The Crypt" or some equivalent.

Perhaps a really horrible, disgusting reality show only shown late at night in Europe.

    Yuck!

My Mom lives in the senior housing building on the block between the Post Office and Market Street. Her apartment has a balcony on the second floor that faces both a pretty condo across the street and overlooks the parking lot for the condo next door.

Anyway, a couple of months ago, she was home sick from work. At some point in the middle of the afternoon she heard all this hideous grunting and noise making, so she went outside to her balcony to see what was going on, looked over the edge of the balcony and saw two older homeless people - one of whom was on crutches - having noisy sex right below her balcony in broad daylight! She started screaming at them to get away from there and threatened to call the cops. They immediately started pulling clothes on, but in the meantime started yelling BACK at my Mom about how SHE was a prude and how SHE obviously needed to get laid, so all this cursing ensued, and eventually they hobbled off. It was quite the scene. It's her favorite story right now.

Hey, vagrants and homeless folks need sex too! I just don't wanna see any sex in public. Not even two perfectly formed, gorgeous young adults. I'll save that for home. :-)

Lovely. This kind of stuff makes me feel more and more like a right-wing Republican every day because I find myself thinking, "Can't we just ship all the bums to an island where they can have sex wherever they want, puke on each other and litter everywhere without us having to deal with them?" Actually, that might not be a bad idea. Kind of like with a 5 year old. You give them the option, "You can either keep [insert destructive behavior] and get a time-out, or you can stop it and get to do something you enjoy that doesn't hurt anyone else". We could say, "You can either get off the booze/crack/meth and we'll help you get on your feet. Or you can go live on this island and be a bum without subjecting me to it. It's your choice."

Agreed, Kyle. I didn't consent to witness their shenanigans.

On the other hand, so to speak, where can our homeless neighbors get it on without an audience? I vote for Ballardmike's house.

Isn’t there a way to get "The fat girl with the pit bull" out of Ballard?? I’m sick of hearing about her seeing her and of her asking me if she can ask me a question. NO you can NOT ask me a question!

Msballard, I think the same couple your mom witnessed was the same pair that was going at in in the vacant lot next to Harris Acounting...and my cousin was treated to the entire Surround Sound and Technicolor Broad Daylight version as well. She called the cops.
What's amazing is how a few dozen degenerates can really ruin a neighborhood for everyone.

Sorry is this the same blonde girl (looks to be in her 20s) who sits on the sidewalk as she "sells" Real Change? She was sitting in front of Bartells as well as near the entrance to Ballard Square within the last month. I remember she threw her Real Change inventory in a tantrum "this is too hard" she says to no one... NICE and EWWWW

Yes, it is, she is around every single day...she panhandles me pretty much every day, even though I have never given her money, and have told her off a few times (like when she was washing her hair in the drinking fountain at Ballard Commons Park this summer.)

She has in fact been 86'd from pretty much every store in Ballard (including Bartells) for shoplifting. Her BF set the bathroom in Starbucks on fire last summer.

What DO you have to do to get arrested around here?

Call the North Precinct and ask for the Commander and demand emphasis patrol in that area. They'll get them. Enough is enough. Yuk, yuk. I've seen her last few nights sitting west side of Carnegie's. Maybe she's hooking now since selling the paper was "too hard."
GOD, I hate what is happening to Ballard. We need Foot Patrol back in Ballard. At least then it stayed under control.

The idea was that after seeing horrible displays of sex, the "spandex wearing, entitled, outlander new ballard types" would be the lesser of the 2 evils. But after reconsidering the audience I am not so sure. Plus, upon reflection, I don't have a strong enough stomach and have a hard time looking away from 'trainwrecks'. So...nevermind.

There are several "new" younger women selling Real Change in the 'hood, so hopefully no one will mistake Stephanie (the name of the girl being discussed above) for one of these other women.

I wonder what store all these shopping carts belong to ....Safeway seems the most likely. And I know that they are not cheap. Perhaps we should all band together and put on the HazMat suits and runner gloves and have a "take back the shopping rart day" in Ballard?

I would be down for that. There was another one on Wednesday near a friends place. It was hidden, we rolled it out to a lit area and it was gone we came back a couple hours later.

Carts are expensive and I think would be considered stolen property. If there is other interest I would definitely help.

I've always wondered why stores would allow people to steal their carts. Uwajimaia is the only one in Seattle that I know of that has a wheel lock system to prevent this kind of theft.

I have a P-patch plot down by Safeway. It is frequently filled with bums/drunkards. I was there one fine day and witnessed a "cart recovery truck" come by and confiscate a grocery cart that one of these individuals had stolen to car around their stuff. The woman was mad but the recovery guy just kept repeating "Stolen!" over and over. So it looks like there is a business that returns stolen carts to stores. Now if we could only get a Bum recovery service...just kidding. (Sort of)

Perhaps we can find out the phone number/contact info of the "cart recovery service" and let them know where all these carts are? My particular pet peeve is the bag lady with the shopping carts of garbage she parks either at Ballar Commons, or between the Sons of Norway Lodge and NOMA. It's a health hazard!

Noticed 3 shopping carts empty and lined up near nw 57th and 24th str. lastnight.

Were right by the curb not sure where they were from , it was at night but they seemed yellowish-tan color at a glance, guessing recovered from the old library.

Slightly windy earlier so maybe anywhere nearby that location now.

Also noticed a trash filled cart over turned at nw 56th and 24th near the bike shop, the past two days.

I was under the impression that the individual stores went out and retrieved their carts when someone lets them know where they are. Usually they have the name of the store on the handle, don't they? (It's not like I don't have to go grocery shopping for the family a minimum of once a week ... you'd think I would know for sure if they have the name of the store on the handle). I remember once asking a manager at a store about the stolen carts and he said "Yes, it is considered theft, but we just don't have the time or resources to arrest everyone who steals a shopping cart."

I once saw a grocery store using their carts to take big bags of garbage out to the dumpster and wondered the same thing. Are you going to CLEAN THAT? I've never touched one of their carts since...
