Dear Lady who can't see her dog poo:

I understand sometimes leaving for a dog walk and not having a bag when the time comes that your dog goes poo. It happens. I think that most people have at one time left the house without a poo bag.

I am sure that you didn't think that someone was looking out a window watching your dog poo. My father and I happened to be in the kitchen watching dogs walk by and when we saw your dog do her business. We placed a bet on whether or not you would pick it up. I was rooting for you, I hoped that you would bend down and pick up the poo, but no, you turned and started to walk off.

I hope I didn't startle you by asking you out my window if you needed a poo bag. I am willing to share with those who forget. But what really got me was when I handed you the poo bags you told me that your dog didn't poo this time. I didn't want to tell you that we saw your dog poo because really who wants to admit that.

As my father was leaving to go to his car he did in fact find your dogs poo. I just wanted to let you know that yes your dog did take her afternoon poo and not to worry, he picked it up for you.

So Lady who can't see her dog poo, your neighbor in ballard cleaned up the poo this time.

    Sincerely,
Your neighbor who has poo bags

  2. Kudos to you! I think you should print this out and post in on the tree near where this happened. :-)

its funny how people react when they think nobody is watching and you surprise 'em.

i watched a woman (a neighbor down the street) allow her precious lil doggie charge around my front yard a bit, then set up to turd in my plants. lucky for me i happened to be near the front windows and banged loudly on them. the look she had was actually as if I was being the asshole or something. then she scurried off.

it was funny "meeting" her again at the neighborhood block party! i thought,"man she looks familiar!?" wonder what she thought.

    that's awesome eric!

I watched last week as a husky took a dump in the parking strip next door (right where my neighbor parks his car). I was very patient watching, weighing the odds at thatgirl did. It was rather amusing watching the walker (a dark-haired woman) look around surreptiously to see if there was anyone home. I could actually SEE the gears working in her tiny brain "do I NEED to pick this up or can I sneak away?"

sadly, I did nothing and she walked away with the steaming mess in hindsight. I've knocked on my window before when it was my own lawn but feel like a bit of a chicken for letting this one go. kudos to you! (especially after confronting her later as a 'neighbor'!)

    Begin rant.
How's this for lame: when I was on my road trip to move up here, people at the rest stops actually gave me strange looks, sometimes even laughed at me, when I picked up after my two little dogs. On one of those occasions it was a guy with a big dog... needless to say he didn't pick up the giant dump his dog left even though there were signs (for those lacking common sense) and free bags were offered right there by the trash can (in a pinch, or if the dispenser is empty, you can always use paper towels or toilet paper from the restrooms instead). I couldn't believe it! I used to have to clean up crap left on my property by others as well... and frankly with 2 dogs of my own as well as litter boxes & bird cages, I have enough without adding more from other people's pets. Is it really that hard to carry baggies with you (and use them)? Are people embarrassed to be seen picking up poop? Does it gross them out? In my opinion, anyone who is too lazy, embarrassed or grossed out by the bodily functions of their pets (or has some other dumb excuse for being unwilling to pick up after them) really shouldn't be allowed to take them out in public. Anyways, no one will ever catch me leaving my dogs' messes behind for someone to step in... I carry ziplock bags with me at all times so I don't need to remember at the last minute when I take my dogs out somewhere.
    End rant.

. . .what if we get her to walk by 'the mailbox' with her sweet little pooper
while TWO & EMVL are in the middle of the first act ?

BBO: I did take care of it at the time. I gave her some poo bags. And if she does read this, I just wanted to let her know that her dog did in fact go poo.

I don't see anything chickensh!t about it. The only thing that the woman didn't know is that my dad picked up after her dog.

Completely agree, Blackcat91. In fact, I'll go a step further. People too ashamed to clean up after their pets, either in public or otherwise, shouldn't have pets. Time to realize, at some point, your dog is going to need to poop. Please be responsible and pick it up so others don't step in it. Thank you very much. Rant end.

    Good grief.

It really had nothing to do with the poo, but the fact that an owner didn't want to pick up after her dog. I hear that there are owners out there who don't pick up after their dogs but I have never seen it.

    That was all.

  13. For all of you with foreign piles of poo on your lawn.

I had a friend whose neighbor would let his large boxer out every morning to do his business. The dog would go next door and poop on my friend's yard. Polite requests and then angry yelling ensued. He would get the finger, and then more poo.

So, one day while having breakfast, he had an epiphany. He went out and poured bacon grease on the previous days deposit. Boxer comes over, eats it, and then make another deposit. The next day, cycle repeats.

Did I mention the dog was a big face licker? He would then go back home and "give Daddy big kisses!"

It's the little things in life that make you smile most!

    That's brilliant! :-)
And it sounds far more effective than banging on the window.

It is so embarrassing when I realize I am out of poo bags and my dog decides to go yet again. Thanks for your compassion on that (and it wasn't me!)

I've had people knock on my door to ask for a poo bag because their dog went in my yard and I find that perfectly acceptable. Much more polite than just leaving it there.
