I'm ready to find a new primary care physician, preferably in Ballard, definitely female, so I looked back in the old postings and found several recommendations for Dr. Rachel Torrez, but I could have sworn there was another thread where several people talked about how much they loved another female doctor in Ballard, but I can't seem to find that thread. So, if you don't mind, and you have a female primary physician in Ballard who you really like, please tell me about her. I'm especially looking for someone who is gay friendly, and (this will likely be more difficult) preferably one who has read and agrees with the book, Good Calories, Bad Calories by Gary Taubes. Thank you in advance.

I just looked her up, and she's a Pediatrician. I'm looking for a GP.

I go to Dr. Torrez and think she is great. I hate going to the Dr, am always super nervous before the appt (doesn't matter what the appt is for) and she put me right at ease. At my first appt she sat down with me, told me about herself, education, life, etc and got to know me. I've never had a Dr. do that before.

She's gay friendly, she and her partner have a child, not sure what her views are on that book you mentioned. Her office staff is great as well, I've called and gotten in on the same day and her nurse was great when he gave me a shot even though I wasn't too happy to be receiving it.

Thank you, Qubert! It must be that Dr. Torrez is the doctor I was thinking of from the previous threads. I really appreciate your response and detailed comments. Very nice of you.

I'll second with Qubert said. I absolutely adore Dr. Torrez. Every visit is like chatting with a friend. She put me at ease instantly. She's attentive and isn't judgmental and is available to her patients. Her office is also very warm and friendly.
