Ever notice how horrible foods like brussel sprouts and liver they try to jazz up with some bacon? It just ruins the bacon!

Agreed... with the exception of collard greens add bacon and it is like heaven!
If anyone wants the best Bloody Mary ever… Buy a new vodka called “Bakon Vodka” it is a new bacon flavored vodka. It will rock your world. Plus it is a WA State company! If you are even more of a bacon aficionado rim the glass with bacon salt! Another WA state company!

Haraam! and not Kosher either!
Is that why these terrorists are so pissed off? Is that why there is no peace deal in sight for the Palestinians and Israelis?
Maybe all the religion is wrong and what we all need is some bacon and a hug.Posted 3 years ago # -
Heh. My dad once called himself a 'bacon vegetarian.'
So, 59thandBlake, that Bakon Vodka is actually good? I've been curious about it, thinking it would make a lovely bloody mary.

Bakon Vodka is excellent. It got two thumbs up at the family Christmas gathering from my grandpa and dad! It does make a lovely blood mary. :)
Btw- Bacon Salt is Kosher! :)

The boyfriend got some Bacon Salt in his Christmas stocking. I shall have to review it! Does the bacon vodka come in little sample bottles?

Head down to Lowell's in the Market where they serve a delicious "Hangtown Mary." Their own (I believe)bacon infused vodka bloody mary with a fresh oyster in there to boot!
Mighty fine. http://www.flickr.com/photos/troutgirl/3792194775/Posted 3 years ago # -
I love Lowell's but never been there at 'mary time.' Thanks for the tip!

I researched bacon vodka today at the liquor store. Does not come in little bottles. Sigh. Comes in a fifth(!) for $60-something dollars! Very pretty bottle though. It's called "Bakon Vodka."
Instead of making such a big investment in vodka that I will hardly ever drink, (not much on Bloody Marys) I ask for info on the various Absinthes that they carry. The staff seems fairly knowledgeable on the subject and they insist that most of it is "the real thing." I did secure a sample size bottle and will report back. The bottles are all very pretty (I know, who cares?) but even that can't make up for the fact that Absinthe tastes like ... licorice. Gag! Choke! Only the french could possibly thing this was a good idea.

$60 for a fifth? Yikes! Monarch is fine for the Mary's I make at home.
But I will have to try the one at Lowell's. :-)Posted 3 years ago # -
bakon vodka is only $30...
Posted 3 years ago # -
Lembond...just the idea of that "Hangtown Mary" made my mouth water. I will need to visit Lowell's ....

59thandBlake - where?? I priced it yesterday at the liquor store at University Village and it was really sixty plus! Have you been able to find a smaller bottle somewhere?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Frayed -- You are welcome! I'll leave the brussel sprout thing alone now! :)
At Hi-Life they have, I think it's called, Only the Damned Cry, it's a black pepper infused vodka martini. And, I'm going to get one of those chocolate bacon bars today.

Silver- I went to the liq store in Shoreline and bought it for $30...and some change... Normal size of liq. I would normally never pass Ballard's two liq stores but Shoreline had it in stock. You can check the WA State Liq website for product avail. in all WA State Liq. Stores.
I don't think it was on sale for 50% off. But this was before Christmas when I was in last minute gift giving mode so I dunno.
Good Luck! Let me know what you find out...

Can't find it for the life of me in their database. I searched on bakon, bacon, Black Rock Spirits, Blackrock, etc.
I give up!

If you search under "bakon" you can find it. It looks like it's at most of the stores. I checked the other day. I think my New Years Resolution will include having a bacon bloody mary in the a.m. of 01/01/10 :)
The following state and contract liquor stores have this product in stock.
Brand Name: "BAKON VK" and Brand Code: "035527"
Quantity Size: 0.75 L Retail Price: $29.45Posted 3 years ago # -
Oh fer crimany sake. I swear I searched on "Bakon." WSLCB must hate me because I don't drink enough. Hmph.
I'll try it again. Thanks teigyr!

Doesn't someone local make a bacon jam? I think Saviour (sp?) will be carrying it soon. Mmmmmm, bacon!
Posted 3 years ago # -
Oh dear. A friend told me that Savour is a dangerous store. So far I had managed to avoid setting foot in there, but bacon jam? Resolve.....is.....weakening....
Posted 3 years ago # -
Isn't that bacon jam made by the Skillet team? Not sure what it tastes like, but I'm not imagining good things... is it sweet, or salty, or both??
Posted 3 years ago # -
Yep, bacon jam is made by Josh and Kelli at Skillet. It is delicious, and they had a quite a run on it this year, thanks to it being featured in Martha Stewart's magazine. Couldn't happen to nicer folks!
