Lost earring- diamond post in gold setting,a pearl drop with gold back. I may have lost it @32nd and 65th near Piccolincos/Rain City, then drove down 24th, stopped by the Stepping Stone on 24th, then parked by Sons of Norway, Huge sentimental value!

I'm bereft. Please, please, if anyone finds my earring, please contact me.

I disagree with Jules plenty, but I would love to find it. It would make her day!!!

We are all neighbors and I do not have any enemies, just opinions, but a lot of people here do not understand the difference.

If you were in your car, look way under the seats, between the seats, back floorboard even if you have a map pocket on your door (that's where I found one of my earrings. Those little buggers can roll anywhere in a car. You can vaccuum your car but first put a nylon stocking over the end of hose;then if earring there will stick to the outside of stocking. My sister-in-law "found" her missing earring on the bottom of her shoe stuck there. I've also found earring inside my bra - fell off and in it went unbeknownst to me.
Good luck Jules. I hope you find it and don't listen to these other yahoos, i.e., Nazgul. Just wanting to stir up trouble and get you irritated. Don't fall for these tactics.

Good ideas Sunset (I've done the bra one myself). I've had plenty of earrings get caught in my scarves during cold weather, so check there, too.

The diamond was my 30th birthday present- the pearl drop I lost five years ago Christmas Eve- and had to have another one manufactured to match. Which I just picked up on the 27th- and was my one Christmas present rom my family- it took the $$ my family had given me for Christmas to pay for it. (it took the jeweler that long to make the cast, find th matching pearl, etc. )I certaily cannot afford to have another one made, or replace the diamond.

I'm just sick at heart. Please keep your eyes peeled.

Several (3?) years ago I lost a gold bracelet in Ballard either at the Bay Theater or walking out the door- never found. Somewhere, someone in Ballard is wearing my gold bamboo bangle bracelet. I can never replace that one, either- it was made in England, and it's vintage.

Jules - not sure if you have done this - if not - might contact the businesses you were by and maybe some good Samaritan turned it in to them. Like around Rain City, etc. Never know.
You could also post a sign by those businesses (maybe inside businesses, if they'll allow it) and see if someone gives you a call. It's worth a try. Not everybody knows about MyBallard and wouldn't see your post.
    Best of luck.

I may be blasted for this - but notice that "Nazgul" comments are no longer here. I reported him. He was on other blogs and saying things to people like "go die in a house fire" and other very nasty, nasty things. He was calling Jules and others on another blog bitches and other very disgusting remarks - and he doesn't even know them. He was going way beyond. Too bad he has to act like this to try to get attenntion. This may come across as censorship to some. I know we are all entitled to our opinions, words but this guy was just playing the role of an instigator and a nasty one at that. I did not respond to him directly because that's what he wanted. But if you had read some of them, maybe you will understand why I reported him. There is a nice 'community' here and who needs a troll like him. Criticize me, if you choose for doing this but I don't have any regrets doing it.

Hi Jules, I hope you find it. I lost a diamond stud earring that I got for my 30th birthday. After I got the replacement I had the jeweler put screw on posts on the earring, that way you have to screw the back on & off. Its a pain to screw them on & off when you are changing earrings, but it's better than losing another earring of value. Good luck!

    Jules,

Several years ago, I lost a very small silver St. Christophers medal that I had since I was a kid. It was not worth much, but was very special to me. I was crushed. Remembering a story about the Saint you pray to, I found out from my mother it was St. Anthony. Not being a church goin' gal, I didnt expect much, but tried it.

The next morning, I walked out of my apartment and found a silver St. Christophers medal(not mine) on the floor in the hallway! I never did find the rightful owner, and I still have and cherish the found one. So I guess someone listened. I hope someone out there is wearing the one that I lost.

Here is a link to the very short informal version of the prayer..

    http://quirkycatholic.blogspot.com/2006/08/prayer-to-st-anthony-patron-of-lost.html

You can also find the longer version online. Hope this helps, and I went for a walk through 65th & 32nd an hour ago and didnt see anything. I will be on the lookout for you.

No blasting here, Sunset. That Nazgul was just plain nasty and vicious.

Good luck finding your earring, Jules. Another poster suggested talking to the businesses you visited, and that's a really good idea. I'm constantly losing rings in public restrooms, and once I lost one that was really important to me (jade and silver, given by my grandmother). I found it again by going back and asking if anyone had turned it in. And they had it. :-)

I've gone to those businesses, searched the streets/sidewalks, no sign.

When I lost it the first time, Christmas Eve 5 years ago, it was in a store I worked part time in...I vacumned the store, took home the bad, and spent all of Christmas Eve night going through the bag. I found the diamond- but not the post or the pearl. When the store closed, they ripped out all the fixtures, and the pearl drop was never found.

I had to spend $200 getting the diamond reset- and another $200 getting the pearl drop manufactured. I've only had this back two weeks.

    I feel sick.

Let me see, Jules, if I'm following the loss--you came out from your place, walked to 65th and 32nd and were in the Rain City/Picolino's area; you got in your car and drove to 24th.....and so on?

Are you absolutely, positively sure you had it on when you left home? I lost a diamond from my wedding ring and swore I lost it in my room at the Inn at Langley. Everyone searched the room with toothbrushes.

Four weeks later, in my entry, something that looked like a silver sliver of a gum wrapper caught my eye--close inspection and it was the diamond.

Regards, Jules, and may good Karma soon reunite you and your earring.

    jules,
I don't want to be a troll, like that last guy.

but isn't it presumptious to say "Somewhere, someone in Ballard is wearing my gold bamboo bangle bracelet."

you make it sound like it was stolen or taken illicitly otherwise.

it oould've just rolled into the gutter and gone into the sewer drain. or maybe stuck to the bottom of a Bay Majestic seat with chewing gum

I do hope you find the earing and will keep my eyes peeled nonetheless.

Doug - I'm a bit confused why you think this would appear on the police scanner. At first I thought you were just kidding, but with the second post I realized that you're serious. This isn't a criticism - I just don't get it.

doug11, a simple 'bump' would suffice, if your goal is to animate the thread.

msballard30, I do not really understand all that scanner language but I thought some of the codes and things they use might be for "Lost and Found."

    Jules, any luck yet?

    Silver, anything on the scanner??

I think it would be a code 171 Missing Property or a code 372 Found Property.

  27. Jules-Can you post a link to a photo of what the other one looks like? Give us all something to focus on? Might sound a bit "woo-woo" but I think it's helpful to focus people's attention on a physical thing like that if you can.

I went through all my Grandmother's jewelry a couple of months ago, and decided to wear one of her gold jewelry sets with clip on earrings. Didn't even make it to where I was going before I noticed one of the earrings was gone. I was very sad. I looked all over with no luck, my hubby found it in our parking lot a week+ later, unharmed. So, you never know!

Jules - I lost an earring a couple of years ago and headed out of town later that day so couldn't look for it. When I returned to town A WEEK LATER, I started retracing my steps. I actually found the earring in the exterior door jamb/sill of the Starbuck's on Elliott. I couldn't believe it but was ecstatic! Love those earrings.

Good luck on your search and don't give up.
