Husband and I have been wondering out loud for many months now....whose yellow helicopter is that which we often see flying over Ballard, Greenwood, Wallingford areas ? Is that SPG ?

I saw that the other day too! It looks small, so I was thinking someones hobby copter, but it was flying really low (which is how I saw it and wondered if they could see me!)

I posted this in another thread, but never got replied to, so I'll try again. Does SPG REALLY fly a helicopter or is this a long running joke because of his avatar? Also, if its not digging to far, what does SPG stand for? These questions just drive me crazy!!

spg will tell you many tales so be prepared to uncover the layers of the mystery. :) i think he may really be a pilot but i can never tell with him! ill ask his cute wife and she will tell me. all joking aside, i have been told it belongs to a rich guy. in magnolia. no idea if it is true.

SPG's upside down flying is what was responsible for all the excess noise at julesage's birthday bash because of the cursedly low ceiling inside Kings Hardware.
I gotta admit the extra breeze was pleasant, but I didn't appreciate the accidental haircut I got on the way to the cake.

Yeah, that low ceiling reminded me of just how much high frequency hearing I've lost. I can hear flea fart when it's quiet (they produce quite a melodious sound, BTW), but with any background din, I'm lost!

HOT44 - The yellow copter is mine. I use it to fly the lovely tourists round our fair city. They quite love it and I can afford to send my brood to private school with the proceeds.

I'm offended that anyone would suggest that little yellow flying lawnmower would be mine! Pfeh! A cheap little Robinson piston engine helicopter? If you look to your left you will notice that I have a much nicer Sikorsky S-76. Yes, it's got some hours on it and I know about the little tear on the side of the front left seat, but I'm going to get new heated seats this winter so why bother fixing it now?
I don't know whose poor excuse for a real helicopter that is as I don't associate with any pilots who can't afford a proper turbine powered aircraft. My guess is they're doing something very low brow like flying tourists over the same route over and over...how boring!

I believe that this is the helicopter:

These are indeed scenic flights, note each route listed on the site goes past Golden Gardens and the Locks.

I'm pretty sure it's T.C. bringing Higgins over to Robin Masters' North Beach estate.

I have some chums who live on a boat (forget which dock) and last time I was there, the comment was that there were 2 copters that 'watch over the area'.

The vibe I caught was 'oh blank, hide that doobie, here comes the yellow copter'
Of course I'm just using a doobie as an example (no sarcasm)

I'll be seeing my chums this weekend and will ask for clarification.
The Tropics could very well be right though.

A member of the Doobie Brothers was there hiding from his band.
Yellow copter came by with the band manager looking for him.
