There was a post a day or two ago about a small Farmers Market in the Ballard Swedish cafeteria this afternoon. It ran from 11-1 - so I took the kids. They said they are going to try to do it once a month. It was small....but the prices for locally grown, organic produce were ROCK BOTTOM. Keep this on your radar and try to catch them next month. I wish I would have bought more...but the fridge only holds so much...!

Thanks for the tip, good to know. I enjoy supporting local merchants, but some of the prices at the Sunday market are out of control.

Today they had radishes, zuchini, kale, romaine, green leaf lettuce, onions, wheat grass, apples, pears, raspberries, cherries - perhaps more - those were the things we bought.

Blame the weather on higher prices. If the prices are high at the Sunday or Swedish Farmers' Market it might have something to do with SUPPLY. My CSA cancelled this week's delivery due to poor growing conditions.
