   No fire alarms on this, so I'm guessing it's a ship's engine starting up or something. Can anyone closer to the bridge advise? The source appears to be west of the bridge.

   A ships engine definitely shouldn't create THAT much smoke, even starting up. Unless its just some old tub with the worst engine in existence. It probably is just fog, the entire ship canal is fogged over.

   I think it was fog too, I drove over and couldnt see anything on fire. It was pretty cool.

   Whoa...that was quick in a cool strange kinda way.
   When I was typing the above a couple of minutes ago, the fog at the Locks was just starting to lift, looking across the way was still hazy. (Unlike earlier where I couldn't see across it at all because it was thick)
   Now? 5 minutes later - totally clear.
