I noticed 2 police cars with a taped off area and something tarped - I'm hoping not a db - on the sidewalk in front of a house on the East side of 16th NW just up from 65th.
Anyone know what happened?

NOT to freak anyone out, or to alarm you but.....YES, there was alot of activity here on 16th Avenue NW, right off of 65th. I was heading to work at 12:30 when it all happened and it *appeared* that there was a dead body on the sidewalk???? There were at least 4 firetrucks, 3 cop cars, the Medical Examiner truck (which is never good) and a few neighbors it looked like. I drove by and went on past as I diod not want to stare. I went back by at about 2:30 and the sidewalk was still taped off and they were hosing it off and scrubbing it down. TRAGIC.
I can not even express anything really but total sorrow and hope that everyone & anyone involved is okay. TRULY my heart goes out to whoever with whatever happened. SO CLOSE to my home too. If anyone reading this was invloved, PLEASE feel free to let me know of anything I can do to be respectful and helpful during this time.
I am so sorry indeed. for you.
Real time 911 showed a medic response to that area at 12:27 pm today. The type was "7 per rule," which means major trauma/at least 7 people sent to the scene. I need to withhold comment until more is known about what happened, but my heart goes out to those involved.
Alonzo: Thank you for letting me know you are okay. PLEASE let me know if there is absolutley *anything* I can do to help. SUCH a tragedy for our sweet neighborhood. Thanks again.
So, I am *far* from "happy" to say, that, I guess what the story seems to have been was an elderly lady fell on her own stairs and died as a result here yesterday afternoon. No shootings, suicide, bad energy....just a very sad & tragic death. I just wanted to update the thread. This makes me feel very sad for her & her family and neighbors. You are *all* in my healing thoughts...
Julesage, thanks for the update... I've been wondering & hoping for something not *too* awful... But def sad & tragic for all involved...
