Yeah, the neighbors have to put up with Metallica and Y&T until ten o'clock now. Go Giants.

Who's the MVP? Lincecum? He was awesome. Remember his 1st game against the Braves? 14 strike outs. 10 tonight. Not a bad way to finish Timmy!

Actually heard Renterias name tossed about earlier. Tough call for sure.

I pretty much gave up on these Baseball Cards gaining in value.
    Way to go SF Giants!

I still remember those old TV commercials with Willie Mays saying "Don't touch them, those are blasting caps"
As a youngster playing ball in the streets of SF I never really knew what the hey Willie was talking about.

I'm happy for the Giants, but particularly my local boy Timmy Lincecum. I used to live in the same neighborhood that he did... and I mean, I didn't know him, but I'm proud of anyone from that weird area of unincorporated King County between Issaquah & Renton.

Think they should have let him finish up the game, though. He was pitching like a beast. Brain Wilson doesn't have to close every game, I think GC are dying out :(

Hey Gnomie, I also remember those Willie Mayes commercials and they weirded me out, too, because I didn't really understand what he was talking about. What the heck were "blasting caps"?! Here's how I remember the ads: "Hey kids, these are blasting caps. If you see them, don't touch them." I'm guessing now that they were explosives to trigger blasting at different building sites.

And since I'm supposed to be doing Spanish homework and would rather procrastinate, I have another thing to add. Do you remember the jingle at KSFO in regards to the Giants? Well, even if you're not a bit interested, I'll go ahead and post anyway since my memory has been triggered by your post. Here goes:

    If you're a fan of Giant's baseball,
    Call bye-bye-baby.
If you want to be in first place,
    Call bye-bye-baby.
Listen to the broadcast on KSFO,
Turn up the volume and let out a go!
    If you're a fan of Giant's baseball,
    Call bye-bye-baby!

Time for me to stop procrastinating and start my Spanish homework. But thanks for some very sweet memories, Gnomie.

P.S. And I'm also so sorry that you lost your beloved pet.

The blasting caps commercials were around when a munitions train blew up in Roseville in 1973. Third grade then. Old. Lame ESPN highlights, btw.

Da, here's hoping the O-line gets its act together, there was no excuse for that lack of performance. 7 sacks just ain't gonna win you the game. *facepalm*

Sorry, Boo, but I checked out some websites, and it appears that the commercials were around in just the late 60's. Not quite sure where you've gotten your information.

I think we're going to San Francisco on saturday to get shirts. Am wondering when the parade will be, there WILL be one I am sure! Love that BART goes to the airport now. Woohoo!

parade will be wednesday. I also read THIS quote: Warning: Giants slugger Aubrey Huff is considering a grand unveiling for his lucky red thong at the parade.

"I'm probably going to wear it all by itself in the parade," Huff said. "I better get a spray tan, huh?"

I LOVE THE GIANTSSSSSSSSSSSS! I'm pretty much on cloud 9 until the reality of the next 100 days without baseball sinks in.

Don't forget Franklin won one as well for CF, although his 2009 season was far better.
